On the one hand, there are Christian leaders and followers who think if we believers do not vote for Donald Trump that we will have almost committed an unforgivable sin. Because after all, Trump may be the chosen one, much like Samson or King Cyrus, who has been chosen to lead America back to a godly path.
And should we choose not to vote, we will have broken some type of scriptural covenant with the Lord.
I would guess these views are held by 60 – 75% of white American Evangelical Christians.
Okay, let’s say all of these Christian leaders and believers are correct. Then, what will happen if Hillary is elected President?
Will the Trump-backing believers point their fingers at us lesser ones and blame us for America’s demise?
This is not a pretty scenario for the Body of Christ!
My prayer today:
Lord, open the spiritual eyes of American believers to see the traps laid by the accuser of the brethren to bring strife to the Body of Christ, which will render the Church powerless in the days ahead because You hate strife. (Based on Revelation 12:10 and Proverbs 6:19)
What do you think and has the Lord spoken to you today?
Join with me on Thursdays to fast and pray for America.
When we see evil around us yet have an opportunity to correct or lessen the evil I believe as Christians we are obligated to do what we can just as we are commanded to spread the “Good News.” The issue that for me remains at the top is the US Supreme Court and it’s ability to reverse the American Holocaust of abortion, thus less evil. I see only one candidate that will appoint justices that might reverse Roe v Wade and that of course is Donald Trump. I will participate not because I am enthused about him but rather I see a future with less evil with him as president. Since Jesus isn’t on the ballot the choice this year as in every election, is the lesser of evils. Each of us has to make our own choice and answer only to God. If He asked about your choice what would your answer be?
Johan,
I don’t disagree with you that much, but your hypothetical question assumes He’d question me on what my choice would be. That’s not the way He works in my life. I’m a Galatians 2:20 believer. So, He tells me what to do. It takes the pressure off me.
Thank you, Mr. Larry , for helping us pray at this kind of crazy time. Well, it feels crazy to me. God bless you!
Debbie,
Thanks. It is crazy! God bless you.
This brings to mind a prophetic word you had in the mid 90’s that there was a civil war coming to the church in America.
BTW..He tells me what to do as well. This election so far I am hearing that none of it matters since He already has a fix in place. I really don’t think it matters since the move of His spirit upon America will overthrow all the enemy’s plans no matter who holds any office.
If they are righteous Hebwill alowbthem to stay and if not He will remove them in whatever way He sees fit. First judgement is coming upon His house though and that is whtbi am seeking. That He would judge me. I want to be like Him and I will.
Just as Jesus was in the earth so are we! The manifestation of the sons of Yehovah is upon us. What the world does is of little consequence since we are bringing the Kingdom into the earth.
“You Kingdom come, you will be done on earth as it Is in heaven. We will prepare the earth for His return and whatever the enemy does has already failed.
As to abortion, it is a symptom like giving someone abpain shot but not examiningbwhat is causing the pain in the first place. Hint…it ain’t the sin in the unbelievers.
Ephraiyim,
I still see a civil war coming to America. I even have a book in the planning stages for it.
My real reasoning for not voting is that I want to be a peacemaker, able to minister to all parts of the Body, and not just a divided part.
As far as judgment goes, I still contend that America has been going through judgment for years. It’s just that we American believers do not know the judgments of the Lord (Jer. 8:7). So, it keeps getting worse.
I also believe we are going through judgements pretty much since evangelicals got into politics heavy when Pat Robertson through his hat in the ring.
We started to believe we could change things through politics instead of prayer and Daddy has allowed the foolishness of that to be revealed, at east to some of us.
Sorry threw not through. Spell check did it again.
