Somehow, I believe the Lord enjoys watching me struggle and labor over these videos because that’s what I’m doing.

“I will never quit…If knocked down, I will get back up, every time. I will draw on every remaining ounce of strength to protect my teammates…I am never out of the fight.” (Philosophy of the U.S. Navy SEALs)
I am never out of the fight.
Although the quote relates specifically to the US Navy SEALs, it also could describe senior citizens, even a seventy-year old guy like me.
Yes, our knees may be creaky, our backs may be temperamental, our energy may be equal to that of a twenty-year old cat on a rainy day, and so forth and so on. And it’s possible some of us may end up using canes, crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, or even lie totally paralyzed on beds. But yet, as long as we can open our mouths or think thoughts, we can pray. And because of that —
We are never out of the fight.
I believe with all my heart that the Lord is searching for groups of senior citizens who believe they are never out of the fight until their hearts stop beating and who are willing to turn their backs on their pasts and devote themselves to prayer.

Lord, pour out Your Spirit on senior citizens so that we set our hope in You and continue in supplications and prayers night and day for America. (Based on 1 Timothy 5:5)

In 539 BC, Daniel read Jeremiah’s prophecy and realized that it was about time for the seventy years of the desolation of Jerusalem to be completed.
Then I turned my face to the Lord God, seeking him by prayer and pleas for mercy with fasting and sackcloth and ashes. (Daniel 9:3)
Did other people, besides Daniel, realize the seventy years were almost complete?
My guess is that many people realized Jeremiah’s prophecy was about to be fulfilled because the Hebrews studied scriptures, but my guess is also that they just accepted it as a fact and did nothing.
Thus, it was Daniel who put his revelation and faith into action so that the Father’s will would be done on earth as it was in heaven. He was then rewarded with a visit by Gabriel and a powerful revelation.
I can’t promise you an angelic visit or a revelation for fasting and praying for the one new man to come forth, but who knows, it might.
My prayer today:
Lord, I’m putting You in remembrance so that we can contend together as a team to bring forth the one new man in this season on Your divine calendar. (Based on Isaiah 43:26)

How prepared are we Americans for calamities and terrorists’ attacks?
Probably about the same as the ones Jesus described in His passage about the return of the Son of Man —
“When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. In those days, the people enjoyed banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat and the flood came and destroyed them all. And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot. People went about their daily business—eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building— until the morning Lot left Sodom. Then fire and burning sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. (Luke 17:26-29)
We American believers do not have to live a “business as usual” life and then be caught by terrible surprises. We are sons of light and sons of the day. We are not supposed to be destined for wrath, but for His salvation.
My prayer today:
Lord, awaken us American believers out of our spiritual indifference so that we are alert, sober-minded, self-controlled, calm, wise, and prepared for the days ahead. (Based on 1 Thessalonians 5:6 Amplified)

For 3.3 million Americans, the holy month of Ramadan began on June 6 and will continue through July 5. The month-long fast and celebration commemorates the time when Allah handed the Koran, the holy book of Islam, to Prophet Muhammad.
The Muslims are allowed two meals per day. One before sunrise called suhoor and one after sunset, which is called iftar. The most pious Muslims do not even drink water during the daylight hours. All are expected to fast except the elderly, the young, and the sick.
My prayers for today:
Lord, I pray that You use this Ramadan fast as a time to open the eyes of Muslims, so that they turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place for those sanctified by faith in You. (Based on Acts 26:18)

In the 1990s, spiritual warfare was the “in” revelation for us believers. Most of the hype was due to a fresh look at –
so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 3:10)
We sang spiritual warfare songs, waved banners, spoke in loud tongues (loud because somehow this seemed to have more power against demons), and shouted proclamations of liberty to cities, believing the demonic principalities and powers would loosen their holds on oppressed people. It was a heady time for loud warriors in the army of God.
But let’s be honest: can anyone name one city that was set free, like San Francisco? Or LA-Compton? Or Chicago? Or Philadelphia? Or Detroit? Or Washington D. C.? Or wherever?
No! Not one city!
Most of us Christians have moved on to the next “in” revelation and have completely forgotten our spiritual warfare efforts from this time period. Yet, the verse still remains in our Bibles, and if all scripture is inspired by God, then maybe we did something wrong back in the 1990s.
What may have been our error?
This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel…and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things (Ephesians 3:6,9)
Paul wrote his letter to the Ephesians in 61 AD. At the time, the Body of Christ was mainly Jewish with only a few Gentiles. Paul’s profound revelation showed that God’s plan was to join the Jews and Gentiles into one Body through the cross.
My dad’s favorite saying to me when I had a brainstorm idea: “Son, don’t go off half-cocked.” By this, he meant that I should not start a project without being totally prepared.
So, I think we believers went off half-cocked to fight spiritual warfare in the 1990s. We were missing half of the church: the Jews.

Lord, help us Gentile believers to hear the sound of Your shofar so that we can embrace our Jewish brothers and sisters to fight spiritual battles in America today.

I finished studying at 9 p.m. and went into the kitchen for a drink of water. As I turned on the recessed ceiling lights, I stopped dead in my tracks. A grotesque creature sat on a stool at the island counter. If the angel was the epitome of the Kingdom of Light, then this being was the dark side’s counterpart. Its gloomy eyes glared at me while its lips formed a sneer. Festering sores plastered the being’s face and neck. A filthy robe cloaked its torso and a stench of decay clogged my nostrils.
“Listen up, Chuck,” the creature said in a raspy voice.
Fear struck my chest like a baseball bat. I had trouble breathing. Confusion settled over me like a morning fog. I could not put two and two together.
“If you go to businessmen and tell them to pray over their financial gifts, seeking the Lord where they should give their money, some bad things will happen to your family. Your two sons will die in an auto accident and your wife will go insane. Do you hear me?”
I could not speak as my mouth went dry and a throbbing sensation sent stabs of pain through my mind.
The creature drummed its dirty two-inch long fingernails on the granite counter. The beat reminded me of a funeral march.
“I said, ‘Do you hear me?’” the creature hissed out the words.
I nodded.
“And I can do it. It will be easy. Just as easy as it was for me to come into your home. No one can protect you from me, not even God!”
The creature bared its brownish-yellowish teeth with a hideous grin as it stood up.
“Don’t you ever forget what I told you, okay?”
The being walked over to the door leading out to the deck, then without opening the door, he stepped through it, and left.
I collapsed on the floor and wept. My body convulsed in fear.
“Oh God! What have I done to my family?” I screamed.

Most believers will not have visible encounters with demons, but as C. S. Lewis wrote — “There is no neutral ground in the universe. Every square inch, every split second is claimed by God, and counterclaimed by Satan.”
My prayer today:
Lord, open our American spiritual eyes to see we’re in a life and death war against principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this age, and against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places and that we’re not fighting against flesh and blood. Help us to be strong in You, in the power of Your might, and to put on the whole armor of God. (Based on Ephesians 6:10-12)

Last night, Carol and I attended a dinner program which featured speakers from the Guardian Group, an organization that has dedicated itself to ridding America of sex trafficking. The facts and figures the speakers presented to us were eyeopening:
My prayer today:
Lord, I fast before You and pray that You will loose the bonds of wickedness, undo the straps of the yokes, let the oppressed go free, and break every yoke of the sex trafficking industry on our children in America. (Based on Isaiah 58:6)

Although 635 million tickets were sold for a recent jackpot, the odds of winning The Powerball Jackpot Lottery is 1 in 292 million. These are approximately the same odds as being hit by a meteor while sitting in your backyard. Why do people spend their $2 on such a losing venture?
“Well, someone has to win, right? Why not me?” is the most common answer.
Now, if you asked these same ticket purchasers if they have prepared themselves for possible terrorists’ attacks and calamities in the near future, their answers would probably be:
“Are you kidding me? No! The odds of a calamity or terrorist’s attack affecting my life are about the same as a meteor hitting me while I sit in the backyard.”
Notice the logic here!
“If you put 500 or a 1000 ISIS against the San Diego Police Department I think that fight goes to ISIS,” Dan Gordon said. “The time it would take to mobilize the Marines, let’s say, at Camp Pendleton or the Navy Seals at Coronado Island, it would be at the earliest, a matter of hours. It simply takes time to get a unit locked and loaded and ready to deploy, and in that time ISIS terrorists could kidnap, murder and maim thousands of people. I wrote a book entitled, Planning + Preparation = Survival, because I don’t think our government or our police forces can protect us from calamities or terrorists’ attacks. It’s our responsibility and the time to plan and prepare is now.
My prayer today:
Lord, give us Americans ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches and willing and obedient hearts to act. (Based on Revelation 2:7 and Isaiah 1:19)
