So, What’s The Lord Saying Or Doing? (12/26/2008)

It is my belief that we Christians depend too much on what an individual pastor or an individual prophet or another anointed person thinks that he (or she) is hearing from the Lord, rather than trying to hear for ourselves or listening to many different voices from all over the Body of Christ. Dependence on just an anointed few is a guaranteed recipe for failure.

So, each day, I invite you to write what you believe the Lord is telling you, showing you, or doing for you. Testimonies. Short teachings. Prophetic words. Scriptures. Prayers. Whatever you believe that the Body of Christ needs to know or will be blessed by hearing. Try to keep your words under 250 words. And if you need to, attach a link to your site for longer messages.

I hardly ever get sick. Common colds, flu, or whatever, they seldom faze me; except this holiday season. I have the Magilla-Gorilla of all common colds.

As miserable as I have felt over the last few days, things still had to get done for Christmas. So, there was little chance to rest and take it easy. It was suck-it-up time and put one foot in front of the other until everything was done.

Through my ailment, I learned this: when you’re sick, it’s hard to care about other people. All you can concentrate on is your own miserable condition. “Bah humbug” to others. Everything and every moment revolves around you and your miserable condition.

Now, I have only been suffering from the affects of a common cold, but what about people who suffer from cancer, heart disease, leprosy, or whatever? How hard it must be for them to think about anything but themselves and their agonies?

REVELATION: If you want people to receive the gospel message, you must also, heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, and cast out demons. Otherwise, the people will never be able to hear the “good news” over the din of their own problems.

  2. that was the whole Protestant revolution, wasn’t it? decentralising power back to the book, the Holy Bible, the one source of Truth.

speak to the Lord, have a personal relationship with Him. That is the most trusty way to move forward in faith.

sorry to hear about your illness. Maybe it redirected your attention onto perhaps things that had been overlooked before?
