So, What’s The Lord Saying Or Doing? (1/10/2009)

It is my belief that we Christians depend too much on what an individual pastor or an individual prophet or another anointed person thinks that he (or she) is hearing from the Lord, rather than trying to hear for ourselves or listening to many different voices from all over the Body of Christ. Dependence on just an anointed few is a guaranteed recipe for failure.

So, each day, I invite you to write what you believe the Lord is telling you, showing you, or doing for you. Testimonies. Short teachings. Prophetic words. Scriptures. Prayers. Whatever you believe that the Body of Christ needs to know or will be blessed by hearing. Try to keep your words under 250 words. And if you need to, attach a link to your site for longer messages.

Without oxen a stable stays clean, but you need a strong ox for a large harvest. (Proverbs 14:4)

This is one of my favorite reformation scriptures. Why? Because all of us (including ME), want change to be a gradual, step by step, here a little, there a little- type of process. You know, don’t mess up my stable by bringing those dirty old oxen in here. Everyone knows what they’ll do on the floor; and the smell…oh boy!

Christianity is on the brink of a great harvest, one that has been prophesied about for years. And what does the harvest need? Strong workers – much like oxen who can break up the fallow land.

So, here’s my prophetic viewpoint: Reformation, harvest and strong workers – all mixed together in an untidy bundle. There were be big messes. Big mistakes. Great grace. And in the end, a beautiful Bride for Jesus.

    Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?

No surely you can’t be right! God wouldn’t want all those good works spoilt would he. All the wonderful institutions we have spent generations building, institutions that we know are better than those flakeys who say they sense what God is saying or doing.
You can’t build a sturdy or lasting institution on something that lacks solidity. This is the very reason that God ordained strong leadership, to protect the little lambs from predators outside of the church, predators who would lead them astray into thinking they can follow God without the help of the pastor.

  3. Larry…

This little tidbit is gold. Thanks for continuing to write.
