Tuesday’s Prayers for America (3/11/2014)

“When you come to a fork in the road, take it.” (Yogi Berra)

Sadly, the words of Yogi Berra describe us American Christians. We encounter problems in our nation and then quickly turn one direction or another, without waiting on the Lord to hear His voice on what we should do.

We paint our decisions with Christianese and a few scriptures so that it sounds religious enough to convince others, but look where we are today in our nation. We are lost and in desperate straits.

There is only one thing left for us to do.

Today, I prayed for America:

Lord, help us American believers to wait on You until our strength is renewed in You. Then, we shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. (Based on Psalms 27:13-14)

What do you think and did the Lord speak to you today?

Join with me on Tuesdays to fast and pray for America.

  1. My prayers for America came from Joel 1:14, which starts out, “Consecrate a fast / Call a sacred assembly . . .”here’s the little poem to go with it.

    Gather together
    fast and
    cry out
    to Me

    it is not
    too late
    to find
    mercy.

  2. Debbie,

Thank you. Thank you. What an awesome confirmation for me. Now, for the backstory of what I wrote above. It took hours and hours for me to write it. I was so frustrated waiting before God. I received nothing and the Holy Spirit would not let me go. My flesh really, really stinks!
