Tuesday’s Prayers for America (10/7/2014)

The saying, “divide and conquer,” is attributed to Emperor Julius Caesar, but it is even older than that. It goes back to the Garden of Eden when Satan convinced Eve that she would not die if she ate the forbidden fruit and would instead be like God. She was deceived and ate the fruit. Adam sinned and did the same.

Satan’s ploy worked. A division formed between God and man.

Since the Garden of Eden, Satan has used his “divide and conquer” tactics over and over again with us believers. I now believe it is the number one reason we Christians have no prayer power to execute righteousness in our cities and over America.

Today, I prayed:

Lord, I pray for us American believers to walk in humility and gentleness with patience, and that we would bear with one another in love and be eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Based on Ephesians 4:2-3)

What do you think and did the Lord speak to you today?

  1. The way we treat one another is the way we treat the Lord. No wonder there’s no prayer power.

  2. Thank you, Mr. Larry. Very good insight and prayer. I kind of fell off my regular prayer schedule , but will hopefully get back on track again. Something that this made me think of is when Jesus asked the disciples to gather up the fragments so nothing was lost. Praying for us to take all our fragments to Him, as bad as it seems, so nothing is lost or wasted within His body.
    God bless you!

I agree, but what’s funny is that I wrote this article and then got upset at my wife for disagreeing with me about packing a box. Packing a box? Yipes. Sometimes, I bear better with others than my wife.

  4. Debbie,

Thanks. You can always jump back on your prayer schedule. All of the time slots are open and waiting for you. Great revelation about the fragments. I like that. God bless you. Anew kitty?

  5. Yes! Another little shelter cat, this one with only one ear. Aub’s last kitty had only one eye. :). Our other cat is scared of her and staying in the basement . . .poor buddy!

  6. Debbie,

When it comes to cats, you seem to love the ones with a few missing parts. There must be a story or a poem in that for you.

  7. It seems for us, the ones that someone else may not want because of how they look, turn out to be just what we needed. This new little cat loves to be petted and sits in Aub’s lap on her own accord . . .which is just what we needed her to do. :). She has also discovered the little mouse and watches it intently . . .like mouse tv!

  8. Debbie,

Sounds like a perfect cat for your family. God bless you and the cat, too.
