President Barack Obama said in his first inaugural address: “To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history, but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist.”
The words, “the wrong side of history,” have been a favorite cliché used often by President Obama, his administration, and the media. The phrase casts contempt on the opposition’s viewpoint and disqualifies its possible merits on the basis of civilization’s inevitable progress from darkness to enlightenment. It is a stinging “conversation stopper,” without any need for making an effective argument. A powerful piece of sound-byte logic. America’s problem right now is not being on the wrong side of history, but being on the wrong side of the Word of God, especially in our nation’s treatment of Israel over the last eight years.
My prayer today:
Lord, help President Trump and his administration to move our nation back to being a staunch ally of Israel so that America will once again enjoy Your blessings. (Based on Genesis 12:3)
What do you think and has the Lord spoken to you today?
Join with me on Thursdays to fast and pray for America.
I pray regularly for President Trump. I did not vote for him, nor did I want to see him elected. I have precious little to say about him that is even nice. So, praying for him is a challenge! He is not the first president I did not vote for and did not want, but my feelings are stronger with regard to him than any before. But I say that to make the point that praying for him is a challenge I am rising to.
It is a trip. He is not really an enemy, but he is not a friend either. I hope God uses him for godly purposes. I pray he does. And that is expanding my view of God, to say the least. But, yes, I pray God blesses him and blesses the world (and us) through blessing him.
Thanx for posting…
Agent X,
Well, I haven’t voted in years. So, I haven’t had a problem praying for Presidents since I was neither for them or against them during their campaign seasons. Like the Apostle Paul, I hope to be all things to all men, which includes liberals, conservatives, and so forth.
Me too! I don’t vote. Havent in years… Doesn’t mean I have no opinion though. But I still don’t endorse one or the other. Still, I was hoping for anyone but the two it boiled down to.
But like I said, I know God has handled this before with Darius, Cyrus, Nebuchadnezzar, and even Herod and Nero! And now that I live under one who is so in-Christlike as this, yet perhaps God’s ironic servant nonetheless, my view of God is enhanced.
Agent X,
As far as my opinion went, I am now writing a book on it. I’m now writing a short book on it. More on this later.
Thank you, Mr. Larry. Praying with you,
Debbie,
Thanks for your prayers. God bless you.
