Why Did God Elect President Obama?

All of Israel should rise up every morning, face west, salute Egypt, and say, “Thanks Yahweh for Egypt.”

You see, it was in Egypt that Israel became a nation. The slavery and brutal oppression by the Egyptians molded and formed Israel into a nation that was totally dependent on God.

If God would have wanted to, he could have created and set into power a Ronald Reagan-like Pharaoh who had compassion on the Israelites and treated them in a godly manner. Then, what would have happened? The Israelites would have bowed down before the Ronald Reagan-like Pharaoh and stayed in Egypt. And today, they would still be singing songs about the Ronald Reagan-like Pharaoh.

Yet, God had a different plan.

But for this purpose I have raised you [Pharaoh] up, to show you My power, so that My name may be proclaimed in all the earth. (Exodus 9:16)

Ouch! We love-dovey Christians don’t like to think that God would raise up a vessel of dishonor or a vessel of wrath prepared for destruction, such as a Pharaoh, so that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy.

Okay, what about President Obama?

I had a vision during the 2008 presidential primaries when Obama and Hillary were fighting it out for the Democratic nomination. In it, the hand of God reached down from heaven and touched Barack Obama on his head. Sadly, I misinterpreted the vision by a country mile or two at the time, but that does not negate the vision.

God chose Barack Obama to be America’s 44th President. Period.

Now, why would God do this?

So that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. (Ephesians 5:27)

Because we believers have little discernment and are so earthly minded, we usually miss the purposes of God in our trials. We look for comfort and escape whereas He uses our distresses and hardships as hammers and chisels to form us into the image of His Son.

What should we do?

We need to fast and pray like the Prophet Daniel did in Babylon, something like this:

“O Lord, You are great and awesome! You always fulfill Your covenant and keep Your promises of unfailing love to those who love You and obey Your commands. But America has sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against You and scorned Your commands and regulations. We have refused to listen to Your servants the prophets…

Lord, You are in the right; but as You see, our faces are covered with shame. This is true of all of us. O Lord, we and our President, other leaders, and citizens are covered with shame because we have sinned against You. But the Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against Him. We have not obeyed the Lord our God, for we have not followed the instructions He gave us through His servants the prophets. All of America has disobeyed Your instruction and turned away, refusing to listen to Your voice…

So now, the solemn curses written in the Law of Moses, the servant of God, have been poured down on us because of our sins. You have kept Your word and done to us and our leaders exactly as You warned. Every curse written against us in the Law of Moses will soon come true. Yet, we have refused to seek mercy from the Lord our God by turning from our sins and recognizing His truth…

In view of all Your faithful mercies, Lord, please turn Your furious anger away from America. All the nations of the world mock us because of our sins.

Just remember: all of Israel was delivered out of Egypt, all walked through the Red Sea, but only two geezers, Joshua and Caleb, crossed the Jordan River into the Promised Land. The rest of them had their bodies scattered in the wilderness.

This is the time to put our hands to the plow and not look back.

Sneak Peak into “Common Sense 2016″…Also Known as the Obama Connection

Common Sense cover

It takes a few days before the “Look inside ↓” feature works on a newly published eBook. So, here’s a little glimpse into Chapter 4:

President Barack Obama said in his first inaugural address: “To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history, but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist.” (43)

The words, “the wrong side of history,” have been a favorite cliché used often by President Obama, his administration, and the media. The phrase casts contempt on the opposition’s viewpoint and disqualifies its possible merits on the basis of civilization’s inevitable progress from darkness to enlightenment. It is a stinging “conversation stopper,” without any need for making an effective argument. A powerful piece of sound-byte logic. (44)

But what is the definitive standard, which President Obama or any politician uses, to determine who is on the wrong or right side of history? Intellectual insight? Public opinion? Scientific analysis? Computer models? What?

With one reliable exception, there are no definitive standards for foretelling the future with any degree of certainty or even how future historians will view our present day political decisions. History zigs and zags all over the pages of time. It seldom travels on a straight line from point A to point B. And historians? Scholars examine the past from numerous angles and through various microscopes without much scientific method involved in their analysis. Their judgments could just as easily be based on vagaries, quirks, and fads, rather than quantifiable facts. To think otherwise is foolish.

The one reliable exception is the Bible, which has proven itself accurate in foretelling the future for thousands of years. The Bible’s accuracy depends solely on one steadfast fact: the omniscience of God.

Since the Bible is our only reliable definitive standard, we need to check where America stands right now through the eyes of the only historian who really counts: the Ancient of Days. (45)

It is my firm belief that America is now under the Judgment of God and has been for more than forty-five years. This is due in major part to our lies and betrayal of South Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos during the Vietnam War, which resulted in the slaughter of more than three million innocent Vietnamese, Cambodians, and Laotians. (See Appendix A)

Yes, I realize many Christians may disagree with my views. Most are gazing at the horizon for signs of a future Judgment of God heading our direction, rather than thinking America has already fallen under His judgment. I believe they have been looking through rose-colored glasses and not correctly discerning the signs of our times.

In my eBook, New Wind Blowing, I describe how America’s urban woes, unemployment, abortion, confused leaders, droughts, illegal aliens, debt, and Islamic terrorism are curses linked to our national sins against God. And that these curses are a part of God’s judgment for disobeying His commandments. (See Appendix B)

I also relate in New Wind Blowing my belief that the 2008 Presidential Election was a plumb line event in which the Lord checked how our nation stood with Him. We sadly chose prosperity over posterity and the Judge signed America’s death warrant. (See Appendix C)

Do I believe we can throw ourselves on 2 Chronicles 7:14 and God will then heal America? I had slim hopes of this ever happening when I wrote New Wind Blowing. (See Appendix D)

But now, because of President Barack Obama, I have even less hope the Lord can heal all of America through a genuine repentance by believers. My guess is that our chances are about equal to King David’s odds of saving his child after the prophet Nathan prophesied the child’s death. (46)

So Manasseh seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to do more evil than the nations whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel. (2 Chronicles 33:9 NKJ)

King Manasseh was the worst king in the history of Judah. His leadership example and executive sins moved Judah from the godly reforms of his father, King Hezekiah, into iniquity and rebellion. Even though Manasseh repented late in his fifty-five year reign, his contrition could not reverse the national damage caused by his sins. The Lord had already made up His mind about Judah and said to His prophet −

“Even if Moses and Samuel stood before Me, yet My mind could not be favorable toward this people. Cast them out of My sight, and let them go forth.” (Jeremiah 15:1 NKJ)

Jerusalem fell in 586 BC and the Jews were carried off into exile to Babylon. All of this came about because of King Manasseh’s sins.

Is President Obama America’s King Manasseh?

If so, it will not be so much for his stances on abortion and same-sex marriages because these sins were set in motion by other politicians before he became President in 2008. Therefore, what is President Obama’s major stumbling block?

It is his “wrong side of history” stance on Israel.

God Bless President Barack Obama

I pray that President Barack Obama will fulfill the divine plans and redemptive purposes that the Lord has placed on his life.  And that President Obama will open up his heart to the truth, and will never settle for anything less than the truth in his life and in his administration. That when his presidential term in office is over that all will proclaim, “President Barack Obama was the Lord’s Champion.” Amen.

How to be a Radical Christian (v).

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”

And He said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself’. On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets. (Matthew 22:36-40)

Most of us Christians, even in times of rebellion,  love God. Why? Because when we gave ourselves to the Lord, He poured His love into our hearts. So in effect, our love for Him is His love back to Him, perfect in every way.

Now, loving neighbors as ourselves, that’s a different story. After all, there has to be some boundaries for our love, doesn’t there? No use in throwing our love-pearls before the swine, right?

So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. (Ephesians 6:28)

The Greek word agape is translated into the English word love in Matthew 22:39 and Ephesians 6:28. And if you reread the two scriptures, you will notice an interesting point: we are to love our wives as our neighbors and as ourselves.

This agape type of love is different from the other Greek words translated into the English word loveeros (husband-wife love), storge (family love), and philia (friend’s love).  It is an unconditional love that cares not about the character flaws or weaknesses in the other person and does not require a reciprocal love in return. It is God’s love, hanging on the cross, and reaching out to all of mankind.

So, if you want to be a radical Christian, look at your neighbor and say to yourself, “If need be, I will lay down my life for you, just as I would for my wife.”

Love never fails… (1 Corinthians 13:8)

How to be a Radical Christian. (iii)

For I am not shamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.  (Romans 1:16)

Have you ever shuddered or cringed a little when someone mentioned the name of Jesus to somebody? Maybe at work or at a ballgame. Maybe, you thought to yourself, there are proper places and times to talk about Jesus, but not here, and not now.

Well, have you heard the tradition surrounding the apostle Paul’s last few moments on earth? Talk about bad timing and bad places.

Emperor Nero arrested Paul for insurrection and threw him into prison. The apostle’s first stay in prison had resulted in most of the guards and many in Nero’s household converting to Christianity. So this time, Nero made sure that Paul had little contact with people or visitors.

On the day of Paul’s execution, Nero allowed just a few spectators and only the most hardened, veteran soldiers to escort the apostle to the execution site, outside Rome on the Tiber River.

Paul was unfazed by his fast approaching martyrdom. He preached the gospel as he walked along. His words touched the hearts of more than one soldier; and they, too, were executed with Paul that day.

Just think, Paul so believed in the life-giving message of the gospel that he was willing to seal the fates of any last-minute converts to the same death that was pronounced over him: beheading.

Now, that is a radical love for the gospel.

And that is what every radical Christian must have. A love for the gospel that can only be extinguished by the death of the believer.

How to be a Radical Christian (ii).

If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels… (1 Cor. 13:1)

Now, I wish that you all spoke in tongues… (1 Cor. 14: 5

I thank God, I speak in tongues more than you all do. (1 Cor. 14: 18)

Once again, I can hear the groans and the shouts. “Not tongues. Anything but that trivial twaddle. I ain’t doing it. No siree – no tongues for me. Never!”

Okay, relax. Take a deep, deep breath. Hold it for a minute or so. Now breathe out. Continue reading.

Let’s return to the same scenarion as Part 2. Your family is staying at the luxurious Berverly Wilshire Hote (where Pretty Woman was filmed), just off Rodeo Drive in Berverly Hills, California. Your wife and daughter are enjoying the shopping spree, and you are carrying enough plastic to pay for everything.

Then, three Mumbai-type terrorists enter the hotel lobby, AK-47’s blazing away and hand grenades exploding. Chaos and confusion reigns as dead bodies hit the floor.

Somehow, you grab your wife and daughter, and hide in a first floor cafe. As you crouch behind a table, you hear the sounds of people begging for their lives and the lives of their children. But then, bursts from the AK-47’s lets you know that mercy is not a part of the terrorists’ makeup.

You hear their footsteps approaching the cafe. It will only be seconds before they enter the door. You look at your wife and daughter, tears are streaming down their faces; they don’t want to die. They want you to do something. Anything. Just do something.

Are you going to pray? If so, how?

Now remember, your mind will be a pile of mush. You will have thoughts about wishing you would have stayed home, or should have gone to Hawaii instead of California, or spending a nice sunny day anywhere but not where you are at that moment. Plus, the fear, not wanting your family to die, and total confusion.

How will you quiet your mind to pray at that moment?

Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can not be uttered.

Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. (Romans 8: 27-28)

Remember: Radical Christians do not care what others think. They swim upstream against the religious current.

How to be a Radical Christian (i.)

Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. (1 Corinthians 14:1)

Maybe your first thought is, “Yuck! Who wants this Pentecostal/Charismatic phoney baloney spiritual gifts-type of stuff. Not me!”

Relax. Take a deep breath. Now, continue reading.

Let’s say that you and your wife take your daughter to the mall. She is three years old and dressed up in just the  cutest Bambi t-shirt and jeans outfit. Everyone looks at her and smiles. She’s a doll and you adore her, and would do anything for her.

But because you were in a hurry when you left home, you did not use the restroom, and you need to go – now. You tell your wife.  She rolls her eyes and says, “Oh honey, use the one in Macy’s Department Store. We’ll wait here for you by the kids play area.”

You rush to the restroom, do your duty, wash your hands and leave. As you walk back from of the store, you see a flash and hear an explosion from an Islamic terrorist’s bomb. It knocks you down. Glass particles and debris are all over you.

Brushing yourself off, you run to where you wife and daughter were waiting. When you get there, you see bodies all over the floor. Somehow, you find your wife and daughter. They’re dead; blood all over them.

Now, what are you going to do?

Are you going to call the police? Or the doctor? Or your pastor? Or the funeral home? Or are you just going to fall down and cry?

You see, at this disastrous moment, you need the gift of faith, the gift of healing, and the gift of miracles to try and raise your loved ones from the dead (1 Corinthians 12: 9-10). And I guarantee that you would do anything to have these gifts at that time, wouldn’t you?

So, what’s stopping you from seeking the spiritual gifts? Pride. Bad teaching. Laziness. What?

Remember: Radical Christians do not care what others think. They swim upstream against the religious current.

Islamic Terrorists Vs. Radical Christians: New Game. New Rules. (Part 5)

Why are radical Christians needed in this war with radical terrorists?

For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. (Ephesians 6:12 Amplified Trans.)

Let’s start with a question that is not asked often enough: what do radical terrorists believe?

They believe that Allah (or God) is backing their ventures and that they are doing Allah’s will when they murder infidels (also known as you and me). They believe America is the Great Satan. They believe that their version of Islam is the only true religion and will eventually conquer the world. And they believe that they will be rewarded in Paradise if they are killed in their attempts to kill infidels and fight the Great Satan.

Now, don’t make the mistake of thinking that they are just powerless, clueless  fanatics because nothing could be farther from the truth. A spiritual power guides them and empowers them. Call it the spirit of Babylon. Or the Ishmael spirit. Or the spirit of Islam. But whatever you call it, it is a religious spirit.

And guess what? It is my belief that the ruling spirit over America is a religious spirit.

So, if there is such a thing as a perfect storm, this is it: America’s foes are backed by a religious spirit; and at the same time, America is under the power of a religious spirit. As of now, this is a no-can-lose war for Satan.

America absolutely needs radical Christians that know how to fight demonic principalities and powers – AND – are free of America’s ruling religious spirit. This is our only hope for victory.

I happened to listen to Bryan Suits on the radio while I was driving the car yesterday. His show, Dark Secret Place, deals with terrorism, fighting in Iraq, and other related stories.

He talked about when he was an officer in Iraq and how the loss of one of his soldiers via an IED  (improvised explosive device) led him to a discussion with an Iraqi cleric.

“Do you want to know how to stop IED’s and roadside bombs?” said the cleric.

“Sure,” said Lt. Suits.

“When you enter a town, grab a ten-year old boy and tie him to the front of your Humvee. Then , when you are leaving the town, untie the boy and let him go. The IED’s will stop.”

Suits said that he was shocked by the cleric’s statement, and told the man that American soldiers would rather die than use an innocent boy as a shield. It was a barbarous, cowardly act.

The cleric shrugged his shoulders as if to say, “Okay, that’s up to you.”

No matter how the news media and the anti-war movement have portrayed our American soldiers, our military will not resort to any means possible to win the war against radical terrorists. And sadly, the terrorists use this noble characteristic as a weapon against us.

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21)

Paul ‘Bear’ Bryant, football coach of the University of Alabama, said, “It’s not the will to win that matters – everyone has that. It’s the will to prepare to win that matters.”

The days of unskilled shoe bombers are over. Instead,  America can expect to see Mumbai-type terrorists. Radical. Dedicated. Trained. Armed. Willing to die. Filled with hate. Hoping to kill large numbers of innocent men, women, and children before they exhale their last breath.

These terrorists want to win. They are prepared.

To counter these radical terrorists, America needs radical Christians who are dedicated, trained, armed, filled with love, willing to die for their family and neighbors, and hoping to be life-giving witnesses to terrorists and others until they die.

I wish I could say that all of us Christians are prepared and ready to go. Or even a quarter of us. But the truth is that most (99%) of us are not dedicated. Not trained. Not armed (with spiritual weapons). We are bogged down with the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things (Mark 4:19).

But guess what? The radical terrorists will pay no heed to our excuses. They will kill you, me, our spouses, our children, our grandchildren, our neighbors, and whosoever, if we are not prepared.

So, we need to make up our minds now.

Because when the terrorist attacks hit us, our president, our governors, our mayors, our city council members, our police, and the national guard will not be able to help us. They will be too late. Only the DMORT teams will arrive on time to stuff us and our loved ones into body bags.
