So, What Is The Lord Saying Or Doing? (12/5/2008)

It is my belief that we Christians depend too much on what an individual pastor or an individual prophet or another anointed person thinks that he (or she) is hearing from the Lord, rather than trying to hear for ourselves or listening to many different voices from all over the Body of Christ. Dependence on just an anointed few is a guaranteed recipe for failure.

So, each day, I invite you to write what you believe the Lord is telling you, showing you, or doing for you. Testimonies. Short teachings. Prophetic words. Scriptures. Prayers. Whatever you believe that the Body of Christ needs to know or will be blessed by hearing. Try to keep your words under 250 words. And if you need to, attach a link to your site for longer messages.

Islamic Terrorists Vs. Radical Christians: New Game. New Rules. (Part 2)

How do you defend a city or a nation against dedicated, radical terrorists like Kasav?

To be honest, there is no way to stop dedicated, radical terrorists from entering America and duplicating a Mumbai incident, especially if they have been trained. America’s strength is that we are an open society. Sadly, this is also our weakness in fighting terrorism. And if you couple our openness with a national “It won’t happen to us” attitude, we’re sitting ducks, just waiting to be plucked.

So, let’s say that you’re staying with your family at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel (where the movie,Pretty Woman, was filmed), just off Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, California. Terrorists arrive and begin shooting their AK-47’s and exploding grenades, killing and maiming everyone they see. Confusion and havoc reigns.

Somehow you’re able to barricade yourself and your family in a first floor cafe. You hear the terrorists walking your direction.  Who can you expect to help you?

Will the president help you? He’ll make a statement on TV, deploring terrorism, and will probably add, “Most Muslims are good people. These are just a few bad eggs!” After all, he needs the Muslim vote in the next election and doesn’t want to offend CAIR.

Will the governor help you? This is California, not Texas; so, the Governor will first take a quick telephone poll to discover what the people think. You know, he’s running for senator and the election will be a close one. He also will appear on TV, deplore terrorism, announce that he is considering all options, even calling out the National Guard, and will take a helicopter to the scene.

Will the mayor and city council help you? These guys will be relegated to low-level radio interviews. And of course, they will deplore terrorism, yada, yada, yada.

What about the police? They and their SWAT teams will surround the hotel. Phone calls will be made to the governor, mayor, police chief, and whoever else needs to be contacted about weighing all of the pros and cons before taking action. Valuable time will pass before a decision is made.

What about a DMORT team? This is the one positive that will happen almost immediately. A Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team from Region IX will be dispatched as soon as they hear about the attack. They will bring victim identification equipment, body bags, and storage units for the expected dead people.

So, what can we do?

Azam Amir Kasav

When you look at the 21-year old terrorist, Azam Amir Kasav’s face, what do you see?  A good-looking youth who should be at a college, preparing himself for a future career. Maybe having a beer or two with buddies on Fridays nights. Maybe dating a soccer cheerleader on Saturday nights. All in all, just being young and doing what youths do, right?

But the facts are that Kasav trained for months, gobbled steroids to buff up his body, and dedicated his life, along with his dead compatriots, in the hope of killing 5,000 innocent people. 5,000 people. They hoped to kill until their last, dying breaths.

Now, most soldiers are trained and committed to being warriors. If  occasions should arise, and combat actions are needed, they will fight. Yet, in the back of their minds, they will desperately want to live. This is a normal reaction by normal men in peril. Thus, most soldiers’ combat actions will be toned down according to a calculated risk/reward ratio on the battle field.

Not so these terrorists. They are committed to killing and dying! No risk is too severe or too challenging for them.

How do you defend a city or a nation against dedicated, radical terrorists like Kasav?

Hmm! Maybe, you don’t really want to think about Mumbai-type terrorist attacks happening in your neighborhood.  After all, nothing has happened since 911. Why stir up fears and anxiety, right?

Terrorism Against America: New Game. New Rules.

india-terrorist1

Whether you like President George Bush or not, the facts are that we Americans have not suffered any terrorist attacks on our nation for seven years and three months. Or since September 11, 2001. It is not that Al Qaeda has forgotten us; they certainly have not. It is just that their plans have been exposed over and over again.

Bush critics argue that the president has had nothing to do with these successes. Instead, they applaud the FBI. Or the CIA.  Or Police Departments.  Or Airport Security. Or the Democratic-controlled Senate and House. Or Barbara Streisand and Oprah Winfrey. Anybody, but not President George Bush.

But the truth is that the Lord has placed a special anointing on President George Bush to keep terrorist attacks away from America during his presidency after 911. Why? Just like King Josiah, the Lord saw a humility in President Bush’s heart and a desire to serve Him; and also, the Lord wanted His fullness of time to be completed in our nation before a new season began in America.

So, on January 20, 2009, the Bush presidency ends; the Obama presidency begins. The special anointing will depart with President Bush. The lifting of the special anointing has nothing to do with Barack Obama, his policies, or the Democratic Party. It is the beginning of a new season in America.

So now, America has to learn a new game with new rules when it comes to terrorism. Let’s pray that we are quick learners.

Spiritual Warfare aka “The Football Game”

As a young Christian, my revelation of spiritual warfare was much like that of a football game. Satan and his monster crew versus us weak, pathetic Christians. But the sad thing about my revelation is that we Christians never played offense. We were always on defense, and the whole football game was played on our one-yard line.

So, Satan as the quarterback would march up behind his center, waiting for the snap to set the play in motion. I would turn around and look at my team mates. We were puny runts, barely able to wear pads. We were pathetic.

Satan would hand off to one of his four horseman in his backfield. The back would smash into the line; and somehow we would stop him. But after each play, we Christians were a little slower to get back on our feet. We were battered and bruised.

How much longer could we withstand the onslaughts of Satan’s team? They were so much bigger than us. We did not stand a chance of winning. O Lord, rapture us, please!

Then one day I had a new revelation about a time in the future. Then, the game would change. Then, the rules would change. Then, Jesus – the Lord God of Hosts – would be our quarterback. It would no longer matter how puny or unskilled we were because Jesus made each of us more than conquerors. We would walk the field as victors, not as wimps. Satan would always be on defense; and we Christians would always be on the offense.

That time that I saw in the future is now.
