Praise the Lord…Pass the Ammo (Part 1)

Walter Williams posted a challenging article today:

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), sometimes called ISIS or IS, is a Sunni extremist group that follows al-Qaida’s anti-West ideology and sees a holy war against the West as a religious duty. With regard to nonbelievers, the Quran commands, “And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out…”

Contrast the words of the Quran with the statements of limp-wristed Western leaders such as this by President Barack Obama: “We have reaffirmed that the United States is not and never will be at war with Islam. Islam teaches peace…”

A debate about whether Islam is a religion of peace or not is entirely irrelevant to the threat to the West posed by ISIS, al-Qaida and other Middle Eastern terrorist groups…

Westerners getting the backbone to defend ourselves from terrorists may have to await a deadly attack on our homeland… (Will The West Defend Itself From The Barbarians, by Walter E. Williams, can be seen in its entirety here.)

Williams gets it!

Although the 78-year old Williams has a doctorate in economics from UCLA, has authored numerous books, and has received all kinds of awards, he is not known as a prophetic voice to the church.

Yet, Williams gets it and the Church, who is called to be a prophetic voice to our communities and the world, does not!

What is the Church’s problem and can we change?

  1. First Larry, I have to say, “What? No cat?” Smiling. Second, leadership from behind is not leadership. Anyone with two ears and two eyes should hear:
    1. ISIS promises to kill Christians and Jews and anyone outside their circle
    2. ISIS beheads, crucifies, and buries alive anyone they please

So much for peace. I think President Obama is trying to do one of two things:
    1. Build bridges with his words so as not to agitate ISIS.
    2. Maybe he signed a contract with them a long time ago. I’m not accusing, just saying . . . wish we had an investigative reporter on that premise of thought.

Our troops would rather go in and fight to win, but they are being micromanaged by the White House. Lines are drawn in the sand all right–how far we can NOT go to defend ourselves. I think any general worth his salt would probably be fired by the Commander in Chief. Colonel Oliver North said today on Fox News that other nations are hesitant to give us air bases and walk with us in this initiative because they are not sure that our president will stay with his word to fight, even from the air.

I do have more to say. I had a dream the night before 9/11/01 and I had a dream before Obama took office. I’ll share them sometime if you’d like.

There is HOPE (gee, my name is Hope so there’d better be Hope in this world) because we bear the thoughts of CHRIST, not the thinking of this world. But the greatest hope is for God to finally have a family that loves him, wants him, chooses him over sin, satan, and the lusts of this world. He is good! He is life! Jesus paid it all so the Father can have His family. I see a great ADOPTION going on before Christ’s return. Many newborn babies coming into the kingdom of God, led by the Lamb of God. That is my hope.

  2. Hope,

I use cats because it was a lot easier to use their photos than look for other ones on the internet and also my cats will not sue me whereas other people might.

One of my favorite statements about leaders: “There go my people. I must run and catch up to them for I am their leader.” (Gandhi) Sadly, this seems to be the motto of our leadership in today’s America.

I am always willing to read/hear other people’s dreams and visions. So, whenever you have the time, I am available.

Like you, I believe the Lord is about to do something great.

  3. The Church’s problem … it doesn’t love the Lord with ALL it’s heart, with All its soul, with All its strength and with ALL its mind. And, it loves itself better than its neighbor.

The Church’s problem … it loves political correctness, not truth.

    Can it change? Yes.

Will it change? Not under those circumstances.

  4. Roger,

    I agree.

Many years ago, the Lord spoke to my heart that He was going to take me through the Valley of the Shadow of Death. But He gave me two choices. I could hold His hand and walk through the Valley, praising and worshipping Him -or- I could let Him drag me through the Valley screaming and complaining. Yet, He let me know that I was going through that Valley one way or the other.

This is kind of where the church is right now, but in the end, it will change.
