Prayers for America (3/22/2018)

Let’s pray for seventy-seven year old Nancy Pelosi, Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, representing most of San Francisco.

She has struggled to make speeches without mental glitches for weeks. I don’t know what’s happening to her, but if I were her, I’d want someone to care enough to pray for me.

Father, we lift Nancy Pelosi before Your throne, asking You to open her heart to the love of the truth, so she would know You as her Savior and Lord. And that You would heal her of whatever malady she is suffering right now. We ask this is Jesus’ name. (Based on 2 Thessalonians 2:10)

Prayers for Our Schools (3/20/2018)

 

Let’s get rid of any attitudes that ignore prayer and believe “gun violence won’t happen in our local schools just because ____.” We can fill in the blank with whatever sorry excuse we might have for not praying for our schools.

Today, another school shooting took place at Great Mills High School in Great Mills, Maryland. One student killed and two others shot.

Great Mills is unincorporated town of 7000 citizens. It’s considered a “safe neighborhood” with 33% of the population being college graduates, 79% being married, and 72% owning homes. 

But today, Great Mills joins the long list of schools being attacked by an armed murderer.

My prayer today:

Lord, give us willing spirits to overcome our fleshly attitudes so that we will watch and pray for our local schools. And Lord, we cry out to You to comfort the suffering students and parents at Great Mills High School today. You are the only One who can do this. (Based on Matthew 26:41)

Prayers for America (3/15/2018)

Did you know a murderer wrote the first five books of the Bible? Or that a murderer, adulterer, and liar wrote half of the Psalms? Or that a murderer and blasphemer wrote almost half of the New Testament?

Yet, we believers accept the writings of Moses, King David, and the Apostle Paul as the living Word of God for our lives.

Today, the major media, Democrats, Republicans, and other critics have been slamming President Donald Trump with a constant barrage of negatives for over a year and a half. They have dug up his past and guess what? Like Moses, David, and Paul, it stinks.

There is an ongoing investigation with no end in sight by Robert Mueller into a Russia connection. The Democrats are even threatening him with impeachment if the House of Representatives becomes their domain once again. It never seems to end.

Who is behind all of this?

I believe what we are seeing is God stripping a man in front of a whole nation, much like He did King David.

What do you think Israel was saying about David when they learned of his adultery with Bathsheba or his murder of her husband, Uriah? I would guess the CNNs, the New York Times, and Washington Posts of his day were calling for his impeachment!

But after the stripping was finished, God said about King David:

For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was laid with his fathers (Acts 13:36)

I believe that God chose Donald Trump to be the President of the United States. I feel one of the biggest reasons God did so was that Trump would take a stand for Israel and move the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

I also believe that if we keep praying for President Trump, we will see a man changed by the Holy Spirit in the White House.

My prayer today:

Lord, help American believers to understand that You have begun a good work in Donald Trump and that you are well able to complete Your work in him. (Based on Philippians 1:6)

Prayers for our Schools (3/13/2018)

Nothing is more heart wrenching than watching the distraught parents and citizens on TV after a school disaster. I am sure they are all burdened with what they should have done and should have said before the tragedy took place.

It’s too late to do much for them, except pray for the Lord to comfort them in their agony.

But it’s not too late for us now. We can join with the Lord God of Hosts and use the most powerful weapon He has given us — prayer — to protect the school children in our local communities.

My prayer today:

Lord, You said that believers could have whatever things they ask for when they pray if they believed they would receive them. Well, Lord, we believe that You will protect the children in our local schools this week. Thanks for honoring Your Word. Amen. (Based on Mark 11:24

Prayers for America (3/8/2018)

 

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

Paul the Apostle urged the churches to pray for kings and people in political authority. The Roman Emperor at the time was Nero, the man who beheaded the Apostle Paul.

Shouldn’t we do the same for our leaders?

My prayer today:

Lord, I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to President Trump the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of his understanding being enlightened; that President Trump may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe. (Based on Ephesians 1:17-19)

Prayers for our Schools (3/6/2018)

 

When it was time for a deliverer to be born in Egypt, Pharaoh said:

“Every son that is born to the Hebrews you shall cast into the Nile, but you shall let every daughter live.” (Exodus 1:22)

Fifteen hundred years later, when the Deliverer was born in Bethlehem:

Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men. (Matthew 2:16)

The same god of this world is trying to kill off our children today. Are these children the generation that will see the Deliverer return in all of His glory?

My prayer today:

Lord, anoint us for battle to fight for our school children with prayers, fasting, and the high praises of God in our mouths with a two-edged sword in our hands. (Based on Psalm 149:6)

Prayers for America (3/1/2018)

Is speaking in tongues still important today?

The Church was baptized in fire and spoke in tongues at the first Pentecost:

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:4)

Twenty years later, Paul made sure the Ephesians spoke in tongues:

And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying. (Acts 19:6)

If the Lord placed such a great emphasis on speaking in tongues in His early Church, why do believers think we can ignore the gift today?

My prayer today:

Lord, forgive us for ignoring and even speaking against the gift of speaking in tongues.  Then once again, pour out Your Spirit upon us so that we speak in tongues and prophesy. (Based on Acts 2:4 and 19:6)

Praying for our Schools (2/27/2018)

When will Christians wake up?

The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. (James 5:16 AMP)

Every community in America needs “religious nuts” like Lillian Meiners who will gather together to pray and fast for the students in their local schools. Whether these believers meet in churches, homes, schools or wherever doesn’t really matter because prayers will reach their targets from anywhere.

This does not mean laws and other things shouldn’t be changed, but prayer and fasting must be the foundation supporting everything else being done for the safety of America’s students. (From my article at WND which can be seen here.)

My prayer today:

Lord, pour out Your grace on American believers so they step into their ordained authority to pray a hedge around each neighborhood school and to stand in the gap before You for their schools’ protection. (Based on Proverbs 29:2 and Ezekiel 22:30

Prayers for America (2/22/2018)

For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven…A time for war and a time for peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 8b)

If I could somehow confront every believer in a face-to-face manner, I would shout, “Wakeup! We’re at war with the kingdom of darkness. Let’s commit ourselves to doing whatever it takes to win.”

My prayer today:

Lord, open American believers’ eyes to the fact that we are not fighting flesh and blood adversaries, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. And that we can only win this war, using Your weapons, not ours. (Based on Ephesians 6:12 and 2 Corinthians 10:4.)

Prayers for California (2/20/2018)

The angel touched me with his hand after a few minutes.

“Look up again,” he said.

I stood up, obeying his command.

This time the spiritual darkness over the university cleared up enough so I could see through it. There, directly above Sather Tower, was a tarnished brass throne and sitting on the throne was a creature, which resembled a monstrous, grotesque gargoyle. It had an elongated, dragon-like face with horns next to its pointed ears, man-like arms with talons for hands, a scaly reptile-like main torso, and wolf-like hindquarters. A long tail wrapped itself around the being’s front paws.

I realized the spiritual murkiness over the campus originated from this creature. It controlled what looked like a tinted screen layer over the whole campus, which filtered out rays of light from the heavens above the screen.  The atmosphere below the screen was murkier and darker than the one above it. Not only was the creature filtering out light rays: it was also spewing out, in rapid AK-47 salvos, what looked like commands from its mouth to the ground below.

“What you’re seeing is the governing demonic principality over the University of California, Berkeley. It’s a religious one, and one of the gatekeepers mentioned by Jesus in Matthew 16:18. Now, look down,” he said, pointing to students walking along the sidewalks below us.

I watched various students crisscrossing the Campanile Esplanade on their way to classes. They looked normal, wearing typical college apparel. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. My spiritual eyes then kicked in, and what appeared normal in the natural realm was not so normal in the spiritual one.

Have you ever seen pictures of a flying dinosaur known as a pterodactyl? It has a long, slender head with a mouth of sharp teeth, scaly-like body, web-like wings, and talons for feet. This sort of resembles the creatures I saw, sitting on the shoulders of almost every student walking below me. Each creature was the size of a large crow and had wolf hair on its body and a slender rat’s tail. They constantly whispered into the ears of students while holding a wing over the students’ other ears. The creatures also defecated and vomited on the students so that each person dripped with slop and sewage. It was ghastly and I yearned to warn the students.

“Follow those two over there,” said the angel, pointing toward two guys.

I focused on the two students. They continued talking to each other as they walked into a free speech area where a street evangelist preached the gospel of the kingdom of God. Both stopped and listened. I watched the pterodactyl-like creatures use their beaks to snatch the seeds of the gospel out of the twosome’s hearts with swift surgeon-like precision. The two students walked away after a few minutes, none the better for their experiences.

I wanted to shout and warn everyone. Someone needed to do it. Why not me?

The above is a fictional rendering of the spiritual realm over the University of California at Berkeley. Is it totally accurate? It is based on scriptures, but of course, I’ve used literary license to bring it to life.

The real reason I wrote Deceived Dead and Delivered was to open people’s eyes to spiritual warfare. Most believers have no clue about fighting the kingdom of darkness and because of this, we are losing battles we should win.

My prayer today:

Lord, remove the blinders from the eyes of California believers so that we can see how to fight spiritual battles against the kingdom of darkness. (Based on 2 Corinthians 4:4)
