With 60 Million Babies Aborted,Why Hasn’t God Removed America Yet? (Part 2)

Many Christians who read Part 1 of this series will think that what happened to King Manasseh and Judah is irrelevant to what is happening in America right now. Why? Because Jesus and the New Covenant have changed everything for us, right?

The answer to this question is “yes” and “no.”

Let’s say that the 60 million aborted babies in America were aborted by 60 million different women and that each asked forgiveness for undergoing an abortion. Our Lord would forgive each one and thus the women would have their eternal slates wiped clean of that sin.

Let’s also say that every abortion doctor and every person involved in the abortion industry would ask forgiveness from the Lord for their sins of being involved in murdering babies. Our Lord would also forgive each one.

So, yes, Jesus and the New Covenant could make a difference in these women’s, the abortion doctors’ and other involved people’s lives.

But what about Planned Parenthood and the other abortion providers? What about the $547 million that Congress and other governmental entities gave to Planned Parenthood last year? Or the $532 million given to Planned Parenthood through private donations by corporations and individuals last year? What about the millions given to the other abortion providers? What about the $30 million given to political candidates by Planned Parenthood? What about the revenue Planned Parenthood has earned from harvesting and selling body parts? What about churches that support abortions? And so forth.

Now, this gets more involved.

Nonprofit organizations, churches, companies, corporations, and various levels of governments do not have voices before the throne of God. Yes, the individuals within these organized groups have voices and may be forgiven, but organizations as a whole do not.

Our Lord judges organizations according to the Laws of God, most of which are in the Old Covenant.

If you doubt this, read the last Book of the Bible: The Revelation of Jesus Christ. It is impossible to understand this Book and what will happen to nations and organizations unless you study the Old Covenant. The four hundred and four verses in the Book contain over eight hundred references to the Old Covenant.

Inside Israel

Once again, it’s time to hear from our sister in Jerusalem about what she is witnessing there as a believer in Yeshua. Put your prayer shawls on and pray for Israel and Sister J. Now here she is —

Greetings with grace and mercy in The Blessed Name of our Lord Yeshua h’meshiach.  May He Alone be blessed and glorified and may you be edified and blessed…for His glory!

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,Nor are your ways My ways,” says theLord.“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,So are My ways higher than your ways,And My thoughts than your thoughts.”ISAIAH 55:8,9

I know that at least SOME of you have thought that I have been silent because I was caught up in the blessing of the yearly IFI Prayer Conference (Intercessors for Israel, the prayer group that I am part of on Friday mornings, for a short while anyway before leaving for work).  Well, it was my joyful intention, but it was not to be this year.

The Lord had other things to teach me about keeping my shield up, about fears and walking in victory and about so much more.

So off I went to the hospital on 16th January, the day after my 44th birthday in HIM.  I couldn’t breathe. I had a sudden and severe case of influenza A and viral pneumonia.

I saw and learned a lot during the 6 days that I was in hospital, although my sister insists that there are better places to go for vacation.

On the 14th, we had a severe sand storm blowing in from Egypt, yellow, thick, sand-air.  I had to be out in it a fair amount of time, although the air quality warning was in effect.  I was also on the bus and train, virtually emergency rooms on wheels with all of the coughing, but I was surprised when before evening I was having difficulty breathing.  By the next day I began to run a high fever.  Being “immune compromised,” I simply don’t run fevers, so I decided to check with my doctor who sent me off for an x-ray and then onto emergency.

That’s when I began writing this letter in my head to you.

I think that I wrote to you first after being poked and prodded for about 6 hours in emergency.  They decided to keep me and put me in a special acute observation room for contagious patients with compromised immune systems.  It was a nice quiet big clean ward with 12 beds and I was deeply grateful to be wheeled to a bed finally. Then I saw that there were no pillows or blankets, just a bottom sheet.  Thankfully I was experienced enough with our hospitals to usurp not just one but two blankets. However, alas for my neck and back, there were NO pillows.  Period. So I rolled up my jackets and sweaters under my neck.

I have explained before that our public hospital system is quite different than in the west generally.  There are no niceties like tooth brushes or slippers, water brought to you, or menus (aside from medically necessitated) or blanket or pillow.  You ARE allowed to have family or friends with you 24/7. Volunteers roam the hospital offering comfort, prayers, drinks and snacks to patients and visitors alike.  My first experience with an Israeli hospital came with a huge dose of culture shock, but I soon saw that NOTHING was compromised when it came to equally distributing quality medicine, just western comforts are not present. At all.

I spent 2 days in the observation ward. It was finally decided that I was not improving but in fact, my health was deteriorating. I was then moved upstairs into the main hospital, to the Internal Medicine A ward. I was too sick to notice much at first, but much effectual prayer by dear righteous saints coupled with treatment awakened me to my surroundings after a day or so.

“Shoshana?” I called to my roommate.  “I know that I know you from somewhere but I can’t figure out from where.”

She answered.  “Aren’t you Dr. Meshulam’s patient?”

I asked her. “Yes! Oh! You are Dr. Rothenberg’s secretary!”

Shoshana (who is a young 83) is someone whom I have seen over the years but we never got to know one another.  She had many visitors.  Her children and Grandchildren came but also she had a volunteer helper’because she was a Holocaust survivor.  Her helper was literally Mary Poppins. On the first day that I was able, I took my Bible and began to try to focus on the Words.  Mary Poppins (of Moroccan descent) was a religious woman and she zeroed in on me immediately.

“What are you reading?” she asked.

“The Tenach,” I answered, “the Nevi’em.”  I was reading in Ezekiel at the moment.

She came over.

“I’m reading in English,” I said. “It is my mother tongue.”

She eyed me. “Where are you from?” she asked suspiciously.

I told her.

“Are you Jewish? Where is your makor (your source…roots)?”

I told her that my father’s family was from Iran originally and my mother from Europe.

“The prophets are ours,” she said.

“Yes, with ALL of their promises…it is all so beautiful.”

She kept eyeing me. “You converted to Judaism?”

“No.  Not at all. All of my family has been Jewish since the beginning. None of my ancestors intermarried.” (I chose not to tell her about my husband, considering her accusatory tone).

“You know, there are those who convert but they are not of us. They know the scriptures better than we do. They know the prophets but they serve h’Shem (The Name of God) AND The OTHER One.”

The only answer that I gave her was, ‘Well I was born Jewish!’

I turned away and toward The Lord.  I began asking Him, “Why am I here Lord?” Pity party was knocking loudly.  He suddenly reminded me of the last time that I was in the hospital.  Looking for a quiet corner in which to read my Bible, I sat in front of a window overlooking the forest. As I looked, a forest fire was set!  It was hot and dry and there had been many arson fires.  I ran to tell the nurse to call the fire department and it took some convincing until I dragged her to the window where she could see the fire already creeping up the hill toward the hospital. So she ran and called the fire department.  I watched until it was put out and thought, “Is that why I am here?”

He answered, “What do you see? Tell!”

“How will we reach our people?”  I asked Him. “They seem inoculated against You.”

I suddenly remembered a tiny woman named Sister Beryl from Sri Lanka who had visited our fellowship in our small remote Alaskan village. She and I talked in depth. She had said to me, “Don’t try to get them to drop the silver. Just keep reaching out to them with the gold. They will then drop the silver and reach for the gold themselves.”

As one who didn’t get saved through a witness or a testimony, but through the revelation of The Lord from The Lord Himself. I KNOW that He can do this but I also remembered that the gold was Present through real revival that had people on their knees praying and fasting for the likes of me.

I saw the silver at its best in the hospital. Young men came along, shyly handing out bags of popcorn. Mature people came bed to bed to pray for the sick and offer help. Four young men with instruments came on Shabbat going room to room to sing Psalms and bring comfort. On and on it went.

The silver is real. THE GOLD IS SEEN WHEN THERE IS TRULY MORE OF HIM AND LESS OF US. My heart groans. “Yes Lord! Enable me.”

Thankfully Mary Poppins wasn’t there over Shabbat. Shoshana and I had plenty of time to really get to know one another.  What a privilege it was for me. She told me that she was born in Vienna Austria in 1933, an only child.  When she was just 2 years old the Nazis arrived. She and her parents were sent to the infamous Warsaw Ghetto in Poland. She grew up there until about 1939 with the horrors, the bodies, the starvation and diseases. She told me of a guard who used to shoot children for fun, laughing, throwing them in the air for target practice and how she was terrified that he would catch her.  They escaped and were reluctantly hidden by Polish farmers until the war ended. Her parents also survived but were deeply damaged by the war.  They had typhoid fever and were taken care of in a hospital for several years.  During that time the Youth Aliyah (orphans taking care of orphans lead by young Israelis) took Shoshana and other war orphans (she was 8 at the time) and taught her all about Israel, language, history finally bringing her here where she went to live in the youth village of Pardas Hanna.

Her parents arrived 2 years later.  Her eyes lit up and she looked at me triumphantly: “From one, that is me, I have 4 children 12 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.  We are a tribe!”

Until Shoshana, I had not really given much thought or prayer to the CHILD survivors.  I know so many through my work who are now in their upper 90s and tell such stories, but to think of a tiny child, the age of my grandchildren losing their childhood in such horror, I wept.  It was an honor and an eye opener.

Sunday came and suddenly everything was different.  We could feel it. There was something going on.  I was taken down to CT to scan my lungs as there was a hemorrhage.  The man who took me down to CT stopped and had a long-animated discussion with a friend along the way, very emotional but in Arabic, so I did not understand.

We have been enduring the nightmares of the Friday riots on our border with Gaza for so very long now. I braced, wondering what new anger was in the air.  I waited quite a while and the man helping me shook his head and said in Hebrew, “I’m sorry that took so long.  Many died and now another.”

I thought, “Uh oh…Gaza…” but I was wrong.

“There were eight this weekend.  One on your ward.  There have NEVER been eight before!  Not since the beginning of the hospital.  The freezer holds six.  Only in a war do they bring in portable freezers.  This is the first time that there have been so many!’ He was very agitated. “This is not good!”

When I got back upstairs, Shoshana met me with all of her possessions and mine as well. “They are cleaning really hard. We had to leave our room for a few hours while they clean.”

So, it turned out that whoever had my bed before me, died, and the autopsy culture came back showing a superbug.  The kind that there is no cure for.  I prayed and watched.  I watched government disease control and forensic detectives scour the ward.  I watched as infrared lights were traced along the walls.  The nurses knew that I work in a doctor’s office and so confided in me.

I have always been interested in the influenza outbreak of 1918.  My Mother was born in a NYC hospital during the worst of it and I heard how my Grandmother prayed that she and her baby would live.  Approximately 100 million worldwide did not.

“Lord? What does this mean?”

Don’t you love it when He answers and scripture begins to flood your mind from places that you haven’t read recently?  1 Chronicles 21:15-28 grabbed me. David had sinned. He numbered the people in a great sin before The Lord and then got to choose the punishment.  He chose 3 days of plague. And in a great act of true intercession, he met The Angle of The Lord on the threshing floor of Ornon the Jebusite. He paid the full price for it and built an alter. The Lord accepted his deep repentance.  AND in 2 Chronicles 3:1 we read: “Now Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to his father David, at the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.”

This is no doubt the same site which Avraham came to in Gen. 22:2. Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”

I could barely stand it as they continued the next day to scrub, test, culture. All I could think of was that the place of true intercession, of true repentance, of a true altar, of a burnt sacrifice was the place where The Lord chooses to put His Name.  The place of The Temple. We are His body, the Temple of The Holy Spirit. WOW!  BUT DAVID HAD TO KNOW THE FULL EXTENT OF HIS SIN AND FULLY REPENT.

What does it MEAN?  I don’t know but I saw and am telling. The following day the entire ward was scoured again and ultraviolet lights carefully examined every nook and cranny.  As I spoke with doctors and nurses they explained that this was a huge year for tourism and many strains of influenza merged in the country under the right conditions to produce a superbug.  My cultures came back free of the superbug so I was released as quickly as possible.  As I spoke to the nurse, wishing her to stay free from all of this upheaval, another old lady standing beside me smiled and explained, “Oh, they don’t get sick. They have special vaccines just for health workers so they stay well.”

The nurse and I glanced at one another stifling a laugh.

In the incredible weakness that I have experienced with this I have been able to renew my stand on The Rock in Whom our faith rests.  I have said, “YES” to His armor and no to fear.  I have stepped into the waters of being clothed in His Strength when I am weak.

It has been quite an intense few weeks.  I KNOW that I have more stories to share then these and that I should have shared them better. I went back to work yesterday, perhaps too soon but no choice.  I ask for prayer for both of us as my husband is still quite ill.  BUT I HAVE PEACE.

I wish that I had other things to share just now, but what I offer is first to God so I am trusting that He will bless some of you perhaps. It comes mixed with my love,

Loving blessings,

your sister J

Praying Against National Discouragement (1/31/2019)

Since 1973, there have been over 61 million abortions in the US. In the world, there have been more than 1.5 billion abortions since 1980. (If you want to see a constantly updated abortion counter board, click here.)

Watching the numbers change at the abortion counter board are mind-boggling. They just keep moving forward. Each tick represents another dead baby. And another. And another. And so forth.

But let’s be honest, it’s easy to be discouraged about abortion, especially when we read about New York’s new up-to-the-time-of-birth abortion guidelines, the Virginia governor’s statement about babies surviving abortions and the media’s words.

Why even pray? Why even fast? It seems like such a waste of time. Might as well just not care at all anymore, right?

But what does discouragement really mean?

Being discouraged actually means we’re looking at our problems and seeing them as bigger and more powerful than our God and His leadership ways. But of course, none of us would ever admit this, right?

Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake. Revelation 8:3-5)

Maybe my individual prayers are not making a big difference at the local Planned Parenthood Clinic, but that’s not necessarily my intention. I’m praying to the Creator to let Him know I agree with Him and His leadership ways against abortion and that I know my prayers will soon cause noises, thunderings, lightnings and earthquakes on earth.

That’s enough to keep me in the battle against abortion and other major problems.

My prayer today:

Lord, I pray that You would give each believer the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You, that the eyes of our understanding would be enlightened about prayer and that we would know the exceeding greatness of Your power backing our prayers. (Based on Ephesians 1:17-19)

Join with me on Tuesdays to fast and pray for our nation.

Politicians, False Prophets and Jesus (Part 8)

Abortion

Christians look back at Roe versus Wade and see the main villains as Margaret Sanger (founder of Planned Parenthood), Planned Parenthood itself, Jane Roe’s lawyers Sarah Weddington and Linda Coffee, and the seven activist judges on the Supreme Court who voted in favor of Roe.

All of these certainly are culpable for their parts in legalizing abortion, but they are not the main guilty party. That belongs to the blood-bought Church of Jesus Christ.

Surely the Lord God does nothing without revealing His secret plan [of the judgment to come] to His servants the prophets. (Amos 3:7 AMP)

The Lord sees the end from the beginning. So, He had to see that 60 million babies would be murdered if Roe versus Wade was passed, but what did God do with His foreknowledge?

In my mind, there’s no doubt that God attempted to speak to the church ahead of time about abortion, but I believe the prophetic ears of the Church were not tuned into heaven. I believe they were tuned into something else.

And it’s not like Planned Parenthood began embracing abortion in a closet. The organization began openly advocating for therapeutic abortions (protecting mothers’ lives) in 1955. They continued to increasingly voice their support for more liberal abortion laws during the 1960s until in 1969, Planned Parenthood called for the repeal all all anti-abortion laws.

What were the ears of the Church tuned into?

During the 1960s, America was embroiled in the Vietnam War. It began with 800 military advisers under President Eisenhower, increased to 9000 troops during President Kennedy’s years and finally to over 500,000 combatants while President Johnson was in the White House.

The Vietnam War divided our nation and the Church. The bloody images came into our living rooms each night through the newscasts on CBS, ABC and NBC. Every believer had an opinion on the war and prayed it would soon end.

And guess what?

Roe versus Wade was first argued before the Supreme Court on December, 13, 1971, before only seven justices. Two justices, William Rehnquist and Lewis Powell, joined the court in January 1972. Because of this, Roe versus Wade was reargued in front of the full Supreme Court on October 11, 1972.

What else was going on during October 1972? The Paris Peace Negotiations to end the Vietnam War.

On October 8, 1972, a major breakthrough came in secret negotiations between Dr. Henry Kissinger and Le Duc Tho. North Vietnam modified their demands. Ten days later, a final draft was drawn up and Dr. Kissinger announced, “Peace is at hand.”

On January 22, 1973, the Supreme Court issued its Roe versus Wade decision. The landmark decision overturned almost every federal and state law restricting abortion in our nation. From that day forward, the war against babies began with a vengeance.

On the following day, Dr. Kissinger and Le Duc Tho signed off on the Viet Nam peace treaty, which was almost identical to the final draft agreed to in October 1972. Then, on January 27, 1973, the leaders of the formal delegations signed the agreement at the Majestic Hotel in Paris.

It wasn’t until 1976 when Reverend Jerry Falwell began preaching against abortion that the Church began to wake up.

Prayers for California to Wake Up (1/29/2019)

The prophet Amos lived just ten miles outside of Jerusalem. He was a sheep breeder and a master shepherd and definitely not a professional prophet. But the Lord told him to travel to Bethel and prophesy against the Northern Kingdom – Israel.

Amos obeyed and traveled there to point out the many calamities, droughts and famines the Lord had brought upon Israel because of their many sins. Yet, the nation refused to listen to Amos about repenting and returning to God. Then, Amos proclaimed –

Therefore, thus will I do to you, O Israel; and because I will do this to you, prepare to meet your God. (Amos 4:12)

Forty years later, Israel met God as the Judge. His guilty verdict against Israel was carried out by Assyria. The nation was erased and led into captivity. It wasn’t until 1948 – twenty-six hundred years later – that Israel became a nation again.

O California, you are much younger than Israel was when it rebelled against God. But you are more accountable because you have millions of Bibles, thousands of churches, Christian TV and radio stations, memories from the Azusa Street Revival and houses of prayer in all of the major cities. So, California, what’s your excuse?

California repent or prepare to meet your God!

My prayer today:

Lord, have compassion on California, raise up hundreds of prophets to speak Your warnings to the cities of California before allowing Your judgments to fall on the state. (Based on 2 Chronicles 36:15)

Join with me on Tuesdays to fast and pray for California and the West Coast.

Politicians, False Prophets and Jesus (Part 6)

Global Warming

Two years after his An Inconvenient Truth documentary hit the movie theaters in 2006, former Vice President Al Gore spoke at the New Baptist Covenant Celebration in Atlanta.  “Global warming is not a political issue,” Gore told a crowd of approximately 2,500 paying attendees. “It is a moral issue. It is an ethical issue. It is a spiritual issue.”

Gore repeated his views that increasing amounts of carbon dioxide in the earth’s atmosphere was causing a global climate crisis. He used four Bible verses to justify his spiritual issue assertion:

Then He also said to the multitudes, “Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming’; and so it is.55 And when you see the south wind blow, you say, ‘There will be hot weather’; and there is.56 Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time? 57 “Yes, and why, even of yourselves, do you not judge what is right? (Luke 12:54-57)

“The evidence is there,” Gore said. “The signal is on the mountain. The trumpet has blown. The scientists are screaming from the rooftops. The ice is melting. The land is parched. The seas are rising. The storms are getting stronger. Why do we not judge what is right?”

Robert Parham, the executive director of the Baptist Center for Ethics referred to Gore as a Baptist prophet and added, “Prophets are unacceptable because their truth is inconvenient.”

Jesus said that we should judge prophets by their fruit. So let’s do that, okay?

First, if Al Gore is a true prophet, the truths he proclaimed in his ground-breaking documentary, An Inconvenient Truth, should be accurate. Are they?

Not really. Almost all of his predictions have failed so far. A judge in England went so far as to demand that nine untruths in the documentary be changed or a syllabus provided for the teachers, in order for the documentary to be shown in the nation’s school classrooms. Gore and his group caved in and provided a syllabus. Others have suggested even more errors than just nine.

Second, money, and lots of it.

Gore earns between $100,000 and $150,000 per speech. His wealth is estimated at almost $300 million dollars. Although his royalty earnings from his books and film projects are pledged to his nonprofit, Climate Reality Project, he has successfully leveraged himself as a climate activist and received invitations to be involved in numerous lucrative deals over the years.

Third, scriptural justification.

Gore’s use of Luke 12:54-57 to justify his spiritual issue assertion has nothing to do with his theories on global warming. He could just as well have used, “Balaam rose up in the morning and saddled his ass” because it’s just as meaningless to his cause as the verses in Luke.

Fourth, hypocrisy.

Isaiah, Jeremiah, Elijah, Elisha and other prophets of God, not only preached what Israel needed to do to avoid calamitous judgments, they also lived in the righteous ways they expected others to follow.

But a critic of Gore said, “Al’s a limousine liberal, a tiresome pedant and climate alarmist who lives a jet-setting, carbon-profligate lifestyle while preaching asceticism for everyone else.” He lives in an oceanfront six-bedroom, $8.9-million villa — the exact place where he predicted the water would rise twenty feet when the ice in Antartica melts.

Okay, is Al Gore a prophet?

Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. (Matthew 24:11)

I believe Gore’s fruit shows that he is a false prophet on global warming. And if he is the point man who is at the forefront of the global warming movement throughout the world, what can we say about the others who are following him? At the least, I believe they are deceived and at the worst they are also false prophets and maybe even greedy hucksters.

It’s my opinion that God is still in control of the weather and that the global warming movement is an anti-God money scam.

You, of course, need to make up your own mind.

Global Warming

As a reminder: let’s look once again at what God said to the prophet Isaiah –

Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, “My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure” (Isaiah 46:10 NKJV)

These words were so important that He repeated them here and here.

Thus, if God was able to look into the future when He set the foundations of the earth, do you really think He would have given humans enough power – good or bad – to destroy the earth? Is the One who fixed the stars, sun and moon in the heavens and also created the earth and all of its organisms so naive to overlook any important point like this?

Of course not!

From the Book of Genesis to the Book of Revelation, only Joshua, Elijah and Jesus have affected climate conditions so far.

Joshua asked God to have the sun and moon stand still so he could finish his nation’s battle with the Amorites.

And there has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the LORD heeded the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel. (Joshua 10:14)

Elijah walked into King Ahab’s court and said, “As the Lord God of Israel lives, there shall be no rain or dew in Israel for the next few years unless I give it the word.”

Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain…And he prayed again and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit. (James 5:17-18)

Jesus and His disciples sailed in a fishing boat across the Sea of Galilee to the opposite side. Jesus fell asleep. A massive tempest arose, causing large waves to wash over the boat. The disciples feared for their lives and awakened Him. Jesus stood up and rebuked the wind and waves. The storm immediately ceased and the sea was calm.

Jesus looked at them and said, “Where is your faith?”

And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!” (Mark 4:41)

Now, in the end-times, the two witnesses who will prophesy for one thousand two hundred and sixty days just before Jesus returns will be able to control some climate conditions.

The two witnesses have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy… (Revelation

Yes, mankind’s sins have caused droughts and climate problems over a single nation, but it has not been a global phenomenon since the great flood nor will it be again until God cleanses the earth with fire.

So, what’s the real problem with global warming?

Politicians, False Prophets and Jesus (Part 4)

Global Warming

Adam and Eve represented all of humanity when they lived in the Garden of Eden. Thus, when Adam and Eve sinned, their actions constituted a 100% rebellion by humanity against God.

Then because of Adam’s and Eve’s sin, Satan became the god of this age, the prince of this world and the prince of the power of the air.

Yet, even though Satan and a third of the angels replaced God and His holy angels in the spiritual governmental positions over the earth, this evil horde had limitations placed upon them by God. They were still His created beings and trembled before Him.

And the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that Job has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD. (Job 1:12)

So the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, Job is in your hand, but spare his life.” (Job 2:6)

And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” (Luke 22:31-32)

The Book of Job provides us great examples of the limits God places on Satan, but it also provides two Satan-created weather examples –

While he was still speaking, another messenger arrived with this news: “The fire of God has fallen from heaven [lightning] and burned up your sheep and all the shepherds. I am the only one who escaped to tell you.” (Job 1:12)

While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, “and suddenly a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people, and they are dead; and I alone have escaped to tell you!” (Job 1:18-19)

And also the Book of Revelation shows another demonic-created weather example –

He [the false prophet] performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven [lightning] on the earth in the sight of men. (Revelation 13:13)

So, can Satan cause weather related problems? Yes, but within the limits God places upon him.

And just so you know, we can expect more Satan induced weather problems in the days ahead because false Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders, hoping to deceive mankind, even us believers. Some of these will most likely involve weather phenomenona.

What about man? Can he affect the weather?

What always encourages me when I look at today’s issues is what God said to the prophet Isaiah –

Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, “My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure” (Isaiah 46:10 NKJV)

Now, consider His words for a moment, which He repeated here and here.

Therefore, if we agree with the Bible, we then must believe that the Creator of heaven and earth saw all of today’s fuss and worry about global warming before He created the world and mankind, right? Yet, even so, He still went ahead with His creation, confidant that His counsel (plans and purposes) would be more than enough to withstand every problem in the future.

What were/are God’s plans?

Then God said, “Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth.” (Genesis 1:26 AMP)

Notice that God gave authority to mankind over all the animals on the earth, but not over  the weather, the various climates throughout the earth or over the solar system. This means He kept all of these in His own hands, right?

If we have any doubts about who is in charge of weather, these should all be erased with the mentioning of one incident –

When Noah was 600 years old, on the seventeenth day of the second month, all the underground waters erupted from the earth, and the rain fell in mighty torrents from the sky. The rain continued to fall for forty days and forty nights. (Genesis 7:11-12 NLT)

A thousand years after the Great Flood, God made His covenant with Israel. He promised to give rain to the nation in its proper seasons so that Israel’s land would produce crops and its trees would bear fruit. These promises were  predicated on Israel following God and obeying His law.

But if Israel failed to follow Him or obey His law, God promised to withhold the rain from from falling on Israel.

Have you ever wondered why the Arabs and other nations didn’t take over the land of Israel before the Jews returned in significant numbers to it in the Twentieth Century?

Rabbi Kohen points out the land suffered an unprecedented, severe and inexplicable (by anything other than supernatural explanations) drought that lasted from the first century until the 20th – a period of 1,800 years coinciding with the forced dispersion of the Jews…

For 1,800 years, it hardly ever rained in Israel. This was the barren land discovered by Mark Twain. So-called “Palestine” was a wasteland – nobody lived there. There was no indigenous Arab population to speak of. It only came after the Jews came back…(Joseph Farah, WND, 11/21/2007)

Nobody wanted the land of Israel until the Jews came back because it was a wasteland. God then allowed rain to fall on Israel.

Okay? God is in charge of weather and climates. Period.

But what about Satan? Can he influence weather?

Inside Israel

Once again, it’s time to hear from our sister in Jerusalem about what she is witnessing there as a believer in Yeshua. Put your prayer shawls on and pray for Israel and Sister J. Now here she is —

“The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins.” (ROMANS 11:26, 27)

Greetings with grace and mercy in The Blessed Name of our Lord, Yeshua h’meshiach, Jesus Christ, Messiah, The Deliverer …The Just Judge Who is The Author of mercy, Truth and grace.  May HE alone be glorified and blessed, and may you be blessed and encouraged.

It is the first day of the new year 2019 and I pray for your BLESSING as I write. It is the new year on what we refer to here as the ‘civil calendar’.

When we first arrived in ’94 we were taught that ‘we Israelis’ go by the Hebrew calendar here (this year according to the Hebrew calendar is 5,779).  The Gregorian New Year is NOT a ‘holiday for us’ and in those early years of our aliyah, it seemed as if it was sacrilege to even think about wishing anyone a good New Year. Our New Year was at Rosh h’Shana (ACTUALLY at Passover…but we will not get -back- into that again now).

Slowly over the years however, as aliyah has increased from Western nations, the western celebrations of New Year was less and less hidden.  The Russians, who, from Soviet tradition, celebrate the new year big time with trees and a sort of Santa Claus, were easier to shame than these haughty westerners. This year celebrating the western New Year seems to have burst forth in full bloom with even FIREWORKS in Tel Aviv. Although still not a holiday, about 20% of the country is said to take note.

As I listened to a discussion about this on the news, the commentator brought up an interesting point: “It personifies the tension that we live in here between being called (by God)  to be a nation and a people “set apart” (God’s calling) and wanting to have a place among the nations (the secular longing).

Numbers 23:9 Balaam spoke the words that Balak did not want to hear either:

For from the top of the rocks I see him, And from the hills I behold him; There! A people dwelling aloneNot reckoning itself among the nations.”

Nor do many Israelis wish to hear this, but God WILL have His way.

Every year since 1993, the Lord has given’ me a Word for the year. One that He will teach me from and bring to my attention as I read. I never know what it will be until He nudges my heart suddenly. This year’s word is DELIVER/DELIVERER.  I am excited to learn what He has for me with this.

I know from so many of you about the different narrow, trying places that your nations have found themselves in this past year.  I heard from a dear Alaskan friend this morning that another 5 or 6 earthquake shook them into the new year, bringing the number of aftershocks and other earthquakes to above 6,100 (!) since 30th of November when the 7.3 hit.  Now that is some pretty tangible reminder of SHAKING!

I know from dear friends in Great Britain how the tensions surrounding the Brexit battle have shaken and continues to shake their nation and leadership.  Those of you in South America, and actually, so many countries, have also shared struggles.

But between personal tragedies and nationwide disasters the testimonies of His Peace, His Deliverance and His Joy have rung clearly. “Founded upon The Rock!’  It is particularly poignant – real – when talking with some of you as loved ones pass through the eternal gates…and some of us draw near ourselves.  ‘We are founded UPON THE ROCK THAT CAN NOT BE SHAKEN!’

Even in the most uncertain, unstable Middle East.

And yes, in plain old life, we have certainly had our opportunities here to test where our feet are standing.  Probably most of you know that we are scheduled to have early elections on the 9th of April.  What a BELEGAN! (that wonderful Hebrew word that I have explained before meaning something like a virtual spaghetti of chaotic confusion!)

Yair Lapid has given the grandiose  promise that if he is elected the first thing that he will do is sell the Prime Minister’s plane.  Avi Gabbay, the leader of the Labor (left wing) party broke away from Tzippe Livni’s (ha Tunioa) party in a surprise move today while I believe THREE new parties have already announced their entry into the battle. Big names are running between political parties faster than the shuffling of a deck of cards (a strange metaphor for me to use, but appropriate).  It makes a kindergarten look like a peaceful island and it is embarrassing to me. The ultimate goal: Overthrow Binyamin Netanyahu!

One of our patients was in on Friday morning and my boss asked him who he was going to vote for. “ANYONE but Netanyahu! he spat. “We HAVE to get him out!

I perked up. “Who do you think could do the job Shauel?”  I asked him.

He turned to me. ”‘I have no idea but we have had enough of him! He doesn’t do ANYTHING! We have no peace.  We need peace! We need to give them a land of their own and just separate from them!”

Oh, he was angry.

“But WHO?” I pressed on. Give me one name?”

“I don’t know.  There isn’t anyone but there will be.”

Great logic, I thought.  “Let’s see…we gave them Gaza, green and flourishing, and got a hornets’ nest of Hamas terror.  We left Lebanon and got Hezbollah. Bibi has been able to tap dance through the incredible pressure that the world is putting on us. Do you really think that anything we give them would be enough?’  I asked.

“No.  They want it all. BUT ENOUGH OF BIBI!  SOMETHING HAS TO GIVE SOMEWHERE!”

Sounded to me just like the earthquakes in Alaska, the tension builds in the tectonic plates and suddenly it all shifts violently under our feet. Sudden change!  Like an earthquake!

Another change was announced here. One we have been hearing about suddenly came through the door.  I don’t pretend to understand it, nor do I really want to.  I am asking The Lord to help me understand it enough.

As of January 1, we have entered stage 2 (or 3 or 5??) on the way to having a cashless society.  We are now limited in cash transactions.  That’s an unsettling (earthquake) feeling for those of us hold-outs who do NOT use credit cards or bank transactions or automatic payments etc. etc. etc.  I was discussing the new law with our money changer this morning.  I have known Netaly since she was about 10.  Her father served in the army with my boss near the northern border more than 30 years ago.  Their last name is Goeli which means “my Deliverer.

When I told Netaly that I don’t use a credit card nor a smart phone she gasped.  I showed her my small Nokia cell phone and she looked horrified.  ‘Wow!  That’s an ‘antique!’ But how do you know about sales?  You can’t even get sale items unless you download the coupon on your smart phone. Especially with prices skyrocketing,” she informed me.

“I’m more concerned about paying our bills.  Our electric bill has not been arriving and when I finally get it, there are late payment charges tagged on.  When I call to solve the problem, they tell me which app to download.”

Catch 22. They are on their way to doing away with payment altogether (along with water, gas and every other utility.  This is no longer some weirdo conspiracy theory, it is at the door.  The VERY kind bank worker (there ARE no longer tellers because there is NO LONGER MONEY KEPT AT OUR BANKS. Our bank workers are there to help us with technical problems and transactions) told me oh so gently, that very soon I will simply HAVE to go cashless.

“So please tell me.  What happens when the world suddenly gets unplugged?  When the cyber umbrella falls?”

He smiled at me patiently. “That won’t happen.  It is all backed up in ‘the cloud.’”

I thought about years ago, back in the 1970s.  We lived in a small Alaskan village facing Siberia.  People had generators, oil boilers, wood stoves, kerosene lamps etc.  One day our village arrived into the “modern world.”  THE ELECTRIC COMPANY PLUGGED US IN!  It was all spanking new and full of guarantees.

Everyone was in wonderland and everyone got rid of their old wood burning stoves…except us.  I remember the day that the lights went out in NYC and the city became paralyzed and panicked.  Here we were in a remote village where the temperature regularly fell to -40 below 0 with 80 mile per hour winds and people were going to DEPEND upon the electricity never going out. NOT US!  And yes, it happened (thankfully not for too long) that there was a glitch and the electricity went out, and our little house was wall to wall people when it did.  Back up wood stoves re-appeared quickly after that.

ONLY GOD CAN NOT FAIL! BUT EVERYTHING in His Word WILL come to pass…even…the uncomfortable parts.

So I told my banker that I believed The Scriptures and I wasn’t about to take a mark when the Cybernet crashes. There will be no way to buy and sell and feed all of the people on the earth without some easy ID that can’t be stolen or counterfeited. And then  the mark is introduced. I don’t mean to sound weird, but it just finally seems very POSSIBLE!

And since He did tell us about it, I believe it.   And interestingly the bank person may have thought that I was weird to not have a credit card or smart phone, he DIDN’T think that I was weird for believing the Scriptures.  Interesting!

SO WELCOME 2019!

With all of the unknowns, God has already been there and walked each path (yours and mine) and He knows how to keep each one of us, so I PRAY that our faces are upturned and our hearts are tender and hearing.

God bless and keep each one of you.  May He be glorified in us as we walk ahead.

Lovingly,

your sister J
