Common Sense 2016

Common Sense cover

Two hundred and forty years ago today, Thomas Paine published his forty-eight page pamphlet: Common Sense. One historian wrote about the publication:

“It would be difficult to name any human composition which has had an effect at once so instant, so extended and so lasting. Common Sense was pirated, parodied and imitated, and translated into the language of every country where the new republic had well-wishers. It worked nothing short of miracles and turned Tories into Whigs.” (History of the American Revolution by Sir George Trevelyan, 1905)

Thomas Paine’s main reason for writing his pamphlet was to encourage the American colonists to free themselves from the rule of King George III.

Unlike Paine, it’s my hope and prayer that Common Sense 2016 will help bring America back under the reign of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords once again.

Amazon description:

Definition of common sense: “The ability to make sound judgments based on known facts. It may be tempered and refined by life’s experiences, but does not require a high degree of sophistication or schooling.”

Is it common sense to keep dusting off 2 Chronicles 7:14 after every national tragedy, like 911 or San Bernardino, even though nothing ever changes?

Is it common sense for evangelicals to claim the 2016 Presidential Election as the most important election in the history of America? Didn’t we utter the same phrase in 2012? And 2008? And 2004? And 2000?

Is it common sense for Christians to keep pointing at the Democrats, Republicans, Liberals, Conservatives, Socialists, the President, Senate, House of Representatives, Supreme Court, Gays, Planned Parenthood, and whoever else as being the source of America’s troubles?

Is it common sense for believers to hope that Donald Trump, Senator Ted Cruz, Dr. Ben Carson, Senator Bernie Sanders, Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, or whoever can possibly pull our nation back from the brink of destruction?

The common sense answer to all of the above questions is “no.”

So, what is the answer?

Common Sense 2016 is a common sense approach to what is presently happening in America, looking at our past through the lens of the Bible and then into the future through the eyes of the Holy Spirit. The book forces us to take off our rose-colored glasses and accurately discern our times.

The author of Common Sense 2016 is Larry Nevenhoven, who has published ten other Amazon eBooks. It is Nevenhoven’s most urgent call for action to today’s Christians.

Thursday’s Prayers for America (1/7/2016)

Although most Christian and conservative leaders declare the 2016 Presidential election as the most important election in the history of America, it is not. In fact, it is almost irrelevant because Donald Trump, Dr. Ben Carson, Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Marco Rubio, Senator Rand Paul, Former Governor Mike Huckabee, Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Senator Bernie Sanders, or whoever cannot make atonement for America’s sin.

Only we believers can make a difference with our nation’s sin, in accordance with −

if my people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

This familiar verse is quoted over and over again, especially after a tragedy, like San Bernardino, but let’s be honest with each other, okay? We must be doing something wrong because it’s not working very well.

Over the years, we have memorized the words and mouthed lip service to 2 Chronicles 7:14, but have paid little attention to the context of why the Lord spoke His words. If we look at verse 12, we will learn that verse 14 was an answer to Solomon’s prayer in 2 Chronicles 6:14-42.

In his prayer, King Solomon prayed about the possibilities of Israel being defeated by enemies, overcome by droughts, famines, pestilences, plagues, and sicknesses and asked the Lord to hear. To hear what? Prayers and supplications.

Then I set my face toward the Lord God to make request by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes. (Daniel 9:3 NKJ)

In the days of His flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was He heard because of His reverence. (Hebrews 5:7)

Supplications are desperate, passionate, earnest prayers from the deepest part of our hearts, crying out to God for Him to intervene on our behalves. It usually includes weeping, crying, and fasting − that’s really what the verb “humble” denotes in 2 Chronicles 7:14.

A few times throughout history God has used an individual, such as a Moses, Samuel, or Daniel, or even a small group of people, such as Rees Howells and his college of intercessors during WWII, to stand in the gap to intercede for a nation. Yet at other times, God has required a large percentage of His believers to intercede on a nation’s behalf. The words of 2 Chronicles 7:14 suggest a large percentage of believers, rather than just an individual or a small group.

Now, I am not naive enough to believe we can get a large percentage of American Christians to agree on much of anything, let alone asking us to fast, weep, and cry out to God with heart-felt supplications. We American believers tend to look first to our government, second to a long list of possibilities, and last to God. So, until disasters and tragedies become everyday occurrences, I don’t expect national days of prayer and fasting to be much more than tiny blips on national radar screens with turnouts only large enough to fill small closets.

But then again, maybe God will bring forth a great move of His Spirit on America, right? The greatest outpouring of the Spirit of prayer on America was during the Businessmen’s Prayer Revival of 1857. That prayer revival ended up converting a million people and stirring up another four million believers, which totaled approximately fifteen percent of the nation’s population. But even so, the prayer revival did not stop the Civil War from taking place four years later.

Therefore, if God chooses to send a new revival to America, I’m all for it. Praise God! But I’ve been hearing about a supposed mega-revival coming to America for almost thirty years…and I’m still waiting. Let’s not make the mistake of placing all of our hopes on the “maybes” of wish-ions, but rather, let’s stand on something more concrete, like 2 Chronicles 7:14. (Common Sense 2016 by Larry Nevenhoven, ©2016, Amazon eBook)

My prayer for today:

Lord, I pray that every believer who has an ear will hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to America right now. (Based on Revelation 2:7)

What do you think and has the Lord spoken to you today?

Join with me on Thursdays to fast and pray for America.

When Prayer Fails…

geezer

Yes, I ate too much for Thanksgiving and when I finally stopped, I looked around the table at our family. As I did, I had a divine interruption.

In a nano-second vision, I saw America in much the same way Choi Ja-Shil saw South Korea in the late 1940’s: a nation under the control of Satan and his kingdom of darkness. She immediately made up her mind to make a difference, no matter what it might cost her.

Choi Ja-Shil ended up fasting often and interceding up to ten hours per night for South Korea for the next ten years after her revelation. She did all of this while raising three children, attending a Bible school, and working to support her family.

Choi Ja-Shil’s prayers resulted in a meeting with Pastor David Yonggi Cho and starting a church in May, 1958. Eventually, the couple’s efforts produced Yoido Full Gospel Church (830,000 members), prayer meetings of 300,000 believers, and Osanri Prayer Mountain which has one million visitors per year.

Today, South Korea has the largest percentage of Christians of any nation in Asia. Not only that, Korean Christians – corporately and individually – are committed to prayer. Early morning prayer meetings, evening prayer meetings, and all night prayer concerts on weekends.

Now, how much of this was due to Choi Ja-Shil’s efforts? Only heaven knows.

Okay, what will I do with my revelation?

To be honest, I don’t know, but I’m willing to seek the Lord on what I should do.

So, for the next month or however long it takes, I won’t be blogging or on Facebook because I want to focus myself on this and also on some outside writing projects. If you have the time, pray for me to hear the Lord’s voice and to obey Him.

“When prayer fails, intercession begins.” (Rees Howells)

My Two Cents On America’s Immigration Problems

If you want to start a lively discussion among Christians, just mention Middle Eastern immigration on Facebook or wherever believers are assembled. You will instantly have two opposing views: the compassionate ones who want to demonstrate the mercy side of Jesus and the ones who want to close the gates to possible enemies of America.

Questions will be fired back and forth between the two groups: “What would Jesus do?” “Shouldn’t we care for the least of these among us?” “Aren’t we supposed to love and care for the strangers who come to our land?” “Israel had borders in the Old Testament and defended them from invasion. Shouldn’t we?” “God set the borders for nations. Shouldn’t we observe them?” “What about wisdom and discernment?” And so forth. And so on.

But one question probably will not be asked: “Why has God allowed this to happen to America now?”

Does the Bible offer some clues for us?

“But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you (Deuteronomy 28:15)

The Old Testament deals mainly with nations, specifically Israel, but since the whole Bible is inspired by God, it also can speak to America today, right?

Chapter 28 of Deuteronomy is divided into two parts. Verses 1 to 14 reveal the blessings a nation receives if it obeys the commandments of God. The blessings include: cities being blessed, families being blessed, our wealth being blessed, our enemies being defeated, our goods being blessed, our lands receiving enough rain, crops being blessed, and our nation being blessed so that the other nations realize that God has blessed us.

Verses 15 to 68 reveal the curses a nation receives if it disobeys the commandments of God. Here’s a few to meditate upon:

A people whom you do not know shall eat up the produce of your ground and all your labors, and you will never be anything but oppressed and crushed continually. (Verse 33 NASB)

The foreigners living among you will become stronger and stronger, while you become weaker and weaker (Verse 43 NLT)

Therefore you shall serve your enemies whom the LORD will send against you, in hunger and thirst, in nakedness, and lacking everything. And he will put a yoke of iron on your neck until he has destroyed you. Verse 48 ESV)

The LORD will bring a nation against you from far away, from the end of the earth, swooping down like the eagle, a nation whose language you do not understand, a hard-faced nation who shall not respect the old or show mercy to the young. (Verses 49-50 ESV)

If I’m correct, it means America has immigration problems because our nation has sinned against the commandments of God. Then, it also means that pointing our fingers at President Obama, Congress, and other government leaders will help very little. And even the election of Donald Trump or Ted Cruz or whoever will do hardly anything to alleviate the immigration issue.

America has sin.

We need to fast and pray until we discover the sins that we have committed against God so we can repent of them.

(My book, New Wind Blowing, is free tomorrow on Amazon as an eBook. It offers insight into some sins I believe America needs to repent of and to do something about right now.)

“Are We There Yet?” (Part 12)

With the exception of Luke who wrote Luke and Acts, the New Testament’s books were written in Greek by Jews who framed their religious thinking in Hebrew. Why? Because the foundation for the New Testament was the Tanakh (our Old Testament), which was written in Hebrew.

Sometimes, we miss deeper meanings because the authors used the Greek language.

For instance, my eyes were recently opened to one word in Paul’s greetings for his letters —

Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:3)

The above greeting was used in one form or another in most of Paul’s letters. The Greek word eirēnē is translated into the English word peace. So, when we read the word peace, we think of tranquility, calm, and quiet.

Yet, the Apostle Paul who wrote the word would have been thinking about the Hebrew word shalom, much like Joseph spoke to his brothers —

And Joseph said, Peace [shalom] be to you… (Genesis 43:23)

The Hebrew word shalom means peace and tranquility, but it also means safety, welfare, health, contentment, success, comfort, wholeness, and integrity.

So, when Paul used the word peace in his greeting, his deeper meaning was the whole complex of peace/wholeness/well-being that is in our Lord Jesus.

If you want to hear how to say, “Peace be to you,” in Hebrew, click here.

If We Just Ignore Gays, They’ll Go Away, Right? (Part 9)

IMG_1797

The Bible – from Genesis to Revelation – is a heterosexual book. Period.  And where homosexuality is mentioned in God’s Word, it’s referred to as being immoral and sinful. God’s revealed plans for a married couple – a man and a woman – is that they will “be fruitful and multiply…and have dominion over the whole earth.”

So, what is God’s revealed plans for same-sex couples or gays or lesbians?

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality…I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19, 21)

Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:19)

For a person to “not inherit the kingdom of God” or to be known as the “least in the kingdom of heaven” for all of Eternity are horrendous endings for humans, especially believers. I don’t claim to know how this will affect salvations, but what if gay believers end up in the outer reaches of heaven? So that the little bit of light they have may seem like darkness and they end up weeping and gnashing their teeth?

Not a happy thought, right?

Sadly, the same Satan who deceived Eve and caused Adam to rebel in the Garden of Eden is the one who speaks to the minds of gays, saying, “God is a God of love and as long as you’re in love with your partner, there’s no problem. After all, didn’t He create you this way?”

And as soon as a gay sins, Satan stands before God, accusing the gay, saying, “He has broken Your word, according to Leviticus 20:13, and deserves to die.”

How long can we believers ignore how the kingdom of darkness has imprisoned gays in their sins? Some of whom are believers who have been bought with the blood of the Lamb?

What can we do?

“Are We There Yet?” (Part 11)

Was Jesus a Christian?

Jesus’ mother’s name was Miryam (Greek name: Mary) and his earthly father’s name was Yosef (Greek name: Joseph).

The angel said to her, “Don’t be afraid, Miryam, for you have found favor with God. Look! You will become pregnant, you will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Yeshua (Jesus).” (Luke 1:30-31 Complete Jewish Bible by David H. Stern)

Jesus (Yeshua) was born to Jewish parents and was sent by God to be the mediator for the New Covenant.

Okay, who was the New Covenant made with and promised to?

“Here, the days are coming,” says ADONAI (Lord), “when I will make my new covenant with the house of Isra’el and with the house of Y’hudah (Judah). It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers on the day I took them by their hand and brought them out of the land of Egypt; because they, for their part, violated my covenant, even though I, for my part, was a husband to them,” says ADONAI. “For this is the covenant I will make with the house of Isra’el after those days,” says ADNONAI: “I will put my Torah within them and write it on their hearts; I will be their God, and they will be my people. (Jeremiah 31:31-33 Complete Jewish Bible by David H. Stern)

The New Covenant was made with and promised to the house of Israel and the house of Judah. We Gentile believers were grafted into the olive tree (Israel) and now share in its nourishing root: Jesus (Yeshua).

So, was Jesus a Christian?

Heavens no! He was a Jew and still is one.

Our Lord is a Jew.

Inside Israel

The Shuk in Jerusalem

The Shuk in Jerusalem

Once again, it’s time to hear from our sister in Jerusalem about what she is witnessing there as a believer in Yeshua. Put your prayer shawls on and pray for Israel and Sister J. Now here she is —

Greetings dear sisters and brothers, with thanksgiving and praise.  May the Lord be glorified and blessed.

Thank you so very much for your prayers and encouragement concerning our trip to Eilat to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday.  Although it was for him, I did not realize how MUCH I needed a rest from the constant stress of both the pace of life in Jerusalem as well as the tension from the ongoing attacks.

I had never been further south then Mitzpe Ramon, so this trip literally opened a new world for me.

Living in Jerusalem, my world focus had been centered on the borders to the north and west and the countries that neighbor us, namely Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran and Jordan. The view from the south opened my eyes to an entirely new perspective and landscape.  I’d like to share it with you while it is fresh in my mind.

We left Jerusalem on the 7 a.m. bus to Eilat. It wasn’t long before I could feel the tension leaving my body and I relaxed.  The buses are so tall that they afford you a wonderful view. I am happy to report about my seeing a wild ostrich during the trip down south.

The flooding rains had enriched the colors of the central region. Vivid colors interplayed with bright greens in spite of the fact that we were traveling during another sand storm. But those colors gave way to the wilderness desert colors, equally spectacular in their understatement.

I expected the desert to be sandy, like the pictures I had seen of caravans of camels making their way over sand dunes. But the sand wasn’t sandy in texture. Instead, it was gravely and rocky.  I mentioned that to Philippe and he explained that the English translation of Scripture says “desert” but the Hebrew word implies a “wilderness,” dry and barren.  Hum!  I had a wrong picture in my head.

We arrived in Eilat at around 1:00 in the afternoon, and just as I had suspected, it is indeed a “party town,” full of hotels, restaurants, and entertainment. Although not my choice cup of tea, I was determined to find out what The Lord DID have for me there.  The airport runway is situation RIGHT in the MIDDLE of town.  After a good, long rest, I was able to begin the exploring.

Eilat is situated on the Red Sea, which in Hebrew is ‫ים סוף  (Y’m Soof) or The Sea of REEDS. Yes, this is THE Red Sea (or Reed Sea) that Moses brought the children of Israel through from Egypt. So, you wouldn’t think that I would be as surprised as I was when the local bus began announcing The Way to Egypt.  It SHOULDN’T surprise me…I mean…I KNOW that we border Egypt to the south, but THERE IT WAS!

It DIDN’T surprise me as much when we passed the border crossings into Jordan near Jericho.  I can easily see Jordan when I go to the Dead Sea (yam h’melach or Salt Sea). Until 1967 I could have been there by walking 2 blocks from where I live, but here was Egypt out my bus window.

And not just Egypt.  Philippe pointed. “Just beyond there is Saudi Arabia,” he said, “and if we were to continue traveling south on this bus, we would arrive first at Sudan, then Eritrea (and Ethiopia) and then Somalia. All along the coast of this very same Sea of Reeds.  Touching the opposite shore, just below Saudi Arabia, is Yemen.  And THERE, at the mouth of the Red Sea or Sea of Reeds, is the GULF OF ADEN, flowing into the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean.”

No WONDER there is all of this fuss going on concerning this area.

ALSO I suddenly understood how all of the African refugees that we have were able to walk from Sudan, Eritrea and Somalia, right up the coast.  Now this was all falling into place for me and now a whole prayer map formed in my mind that was much more real to me.

We have a southern border and it is TENSE, just like our Western border, and our Northern border.

But on that day, we were not going on to Egypt. We were going to swim with the extraordinary fish of the Red Sea.

And did we ever bask in the liquid creation of God’s imagination.  Oh my, you can look at the photos online or in a library. Pictures of the exotic fish and coral found only in this sea, but to see it in person truly IS a thrill that can ONLY result in worship and humbling wonder at such a Loving Creator who delights in bringing forth such amazing creatures.

I was lovingly coaxed into snorkeling, which I eventually learned how to breathe properly. I swam among bright blue fish striped with florescent red – every bit as large as a basketball.  They were not afraid of people in these shockingly blue, clear waters, but swam in schools along side of us and around us.  Let me tell you, if you ever truly need to REST, swimming in an aquarium will do it.  God is SOOO GOOD.

We visited a “sea world” sort of observatory and learned all about sharks, saw huge sea turtles, rays and mantas, eels and critters. All part of His silent world. His wonders. The works of His Hands that DO INDEED DECLARE THE GLORY OF GOD as do the heavens.  Really, all of creation bares His Fingerprints, His DNA, and sings of His great mysterious Love. How could we BUT love and forgive one other EVERYTHING when we are all part of this great plan?  And why is it so easy to love what He has made, except for my brothers and sisters?

We snorkeled again with the exotic fish on our last day. And as we waited for the bus back to the hotel, the sky opened up and down poured a rare desert wilderness rain, flash floods and all.  I have NEVER seen such HUGE RAIN DROPS. Each drop of rain was the size of the end of my thumb. Before the bus arrived the roads became a river.  It was dramatic and beautiful. It cleared the sand from the air that had been there until that point.  By evening we were able to clearly see the mountains of Eilat and Jordan. I feel it was a clear picture of what Moses looked at and what Mount Sinai is like.

Bare red and white and black mountains, standing in very gentle contrast looking every bit like the windblown forms of the desert which they are. Desert colors are so different than forest colors. They are both large and gentle, such a subtle, silent power.

By morning we finally saw the bright blue skies of Eilat, which meant heat, but we were leaving before the heat of the day.

I read in 1 John as we headed home:

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. (1 John 2:7-10)

So WHY is it so hard to obey This Wonderful God Who has sent His Only Son to be my Savior and Messiah and has given me His Holy Spirit to enable me to do everything He asks of me?  If I can love the fish, why can’t I so freely LOVE HIS KIDS?

About half way home I noticed the sky getting black.  We saw signs along the way that it had rained here.  We had been blessed to NOT be able to see or hear any news while we were gone so we didn’t know about the weather.  We did know that everyone who asked us where we were from showed great sympathy when we said, Jerusalem.” They wished us deep rest.

But, indeed, vacations end and ours did abruptly.

As we got back to the city, we entered a tunnel.  As we exited, it was as if we had entered another world: a flooded one where the sky had broken open. It was POURING down.  When we neared the central bus station, they closed the gates in front of us (we never found out why) so we jumped out of the bus in the downpour and fished our suitcase out from under the bus, wading through the puddles to the train.  Cold and soaked but laughing, we arrived home to happy-to-see-us animals and a shabat dinner prepared ahead of time.

Thank you for praying.  Thank you for letting me share.  Thank you for being the very HEART of His wondrous Creation.

May He be glorified in and through us.

Blessings,

your sis J

If We Just Ignore Gays, They’ll Go Away, Right? (Part 8)

IMG_1797

Do you realize that Satan still has a voice and a standing before God whereby he can accuse us believers?

“Wait a second!” you shout. “Satan has been cast out of heaven, along with his followers?”

Yes, that’s true in part, but let’s look at Scripture for our answers.

Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. (Job 2:1)

Obviously, Satan had access to the courts of God. So, what did Satan do after the Lord mentioned Job?

He accused Job of serving God just because of His blessings. And we know how that turned out for Job: a long trial.

The prophet Zechariah had a vision:

Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. (Zechariah 3:1)

The Angel of the Lord in this verse is understood to be a theophany or a visible manifestation of the Lord. Satan stood at the Lord’s right hand, which is the place for the prosecutor or an accuser before a judge.

Lets look at the main evidence –

And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. (Revelation 12:10)

If you look at the three verses before this one, you will learn that war broke out in heaven with Michael and his angels fighting against Satan and his group. Satan loses the war and is then cast down to earth.

But when does this happen?

and the woman [Israel] fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, in which she is to be nourished for 1,260 days. (Revelation 12:6)

The words –”for 1,260 days” – refers to the midpoint of the Tribulation, which has not happened as yet. Thus, because of the context, Satan still has standing before God’s throne to accuse us believers.

What about the words of Jesus?

And Jesus said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. (Luke 10:18)

This is the “in part,” I mentioned earlier. Yes, Satan and his rebel horde no longer have access to God’s third heaven and are banished to the second heaven and below where the principalities and powers are located, but at the same time, Satan somehow has a standing before God.

My guess is that it has to do with different dimensions…but that’s only a guess on my part.

Now, for the gays, Satan’s position as a deceiver and an accuser is a double blow for them.

“Are We There Yet?” (Part 10)

I’m a grace to the nth believer, by which I can’t think of a single way that a truly born again, new creation believer can lose his or her salvation.

Okay, with that in mind, our Hebraic Roots teacher, Pastor Bruce Dowell of Shiloh Messianic Congregation, said something last night that shocked me. “Do you believe every Christian will be invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb? Now, I don’t mean that some believers will lose their salvation, but rather, I mean some may not make the cut to be a part of the Bride.”

I sat there thinking, “Wow! This goes against most evangelical teachings that I’ve heard.”

Pastor Dowell quoted the verses about the ten virgins who took their lamps out to meet the bridegroom –

Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. (Matthew 25:2-4)

The Greek word mōros is translated into our English word foolish in this verse, but it also may mean: “godless or showing lack of reverence or respect for God.”

The same Greek word mōros also appears in Matthew 7:26 –

But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand”

Pastor Dowell then quoted Revelation 12:17 –

The dragon [Satan] was enraged with the woman [Israel] and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

What are the commandments of God? The Torah or the first five books of the Old Testament.

This morning as I studied and meditated on the marriage supper of the Lamb. I came across the following verses –

“Let us rejoice and be glad! Let us give Him glory! For the time has come for the wedding of the Lamb, and His bride has prepared herself — fine linen, bright and clean has been given to her to wear. (Fine linen means the righteous deeds of God’s people.) The angel said to me, “Write: ‘How blessed are those who have been invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb!”‘ Then he added, “These are God’s very words.” (Revelation 19:7-9 Complete Jewish Bible)

We believers have the responsibility of preparing ourselves. You see, we determine the level of godliness we choose to walk in.

And also:

Then, he said to his servants, “The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy…For many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:8, 14)

The Bible states there are Kingdom levels that believers choose to walk in by our obedience to God’s commandments or Torah. These levels range from the least to great and the greatest. Will the least be allowed to attend the marriage supper of the Lamb?

I don’t know about you, but I’m not going to take the chance of missing the marriage supper, but rather, I’m going to learn more about God’s Torah and our Hebrew roots.
